PRINCIPAL’S CORNER IN GOD’S LIKENESS

Our relations with God are what they are today only because of God’s uncondition-

al love, God’s patience and God’s for-giveness; in fact, every time we sin, we are acting as God’s enemies. Since with God there is no persistent offender, we can always enjoy God’s forgiveness as many times as we need and ask for it. Because of our likeness with God, we are invited to always aim high and thrive to imitate God in His way of lov-ing and forgiving; that is why Jesus doesn’t hesitate to invite His disciples to love their enemies, to do good to those who hate them, to bless those who curse them and to pray for those who mistreat them. Such invitation is far more than just ignoring or avoiding enemies or for-getting about them, it is rebuilding bridges where they have collapsed, it is creating love and friendship where they are lacking, it is seeing in each person the dearly beloved son and daughter of God whom nobody is allowed to harm, having in mind that God Himself is kind to the wicked and to the ungrateful. Jesus’ invitation sounds very hard and unique, but it is the price to pay for being and living in God’s likeness. Fr. Cletus

Please consider adding the Church of St. Jerome to your will.

What does your faith mean to you? Faith is something so personal that words cannot easily explain it. Faith can bring peace amidst tur-moil, and true joy even in difficult circumstances. As Catholics, we

are called to freely live out our faith and to give back to others as Christ has poured Himself out for us. The Catholic Services Appeal Foundation (CSAF) is an independent non-profit focused solely on supporting 20 designated outreach ministries and nothing else. By partnering with the CSAF, you help those in need: the hungry, the orphan, the sick, suffering, dying and grieving. You as-sist in ministering to the imprisoned, evangelizing Catholic youth and college students, and strengthening families. You enable the sacraments to be provided to Catholics young and old alike. To join in the work of the CSAF, simply connect via your mobile device to csafspm.org, or complete a paper pledge form and drop it in the col-lection basket or mail it directly to the Foundation’s office in Plymouth, MN. Thank you for responding to the Gospel call to serve the poor, sup-port life, strengthen faith and transform lives by God’s grace - Unified We Rise!
