Living water represents Gods Spirit who comes to us in Baptism, penetrating every aspect of our lives and quenching our spiritual thirst. The Holy Spirit of God, the Word of God, and the Sacraments of God in the Church are the primary sources of the living wa- ter of Divine Grace. The first reading describes how God provided water to the ungrateful complainers of Israel, thus placing Jesuspromise within the context of the Exodus account of water coming from the rock at Horeb. In the second reading, Saint Paul asserts that, as the Saviour of mankind, Jesus poured the living water of the gift of the Holy Spirit into our hearts. In the Gospel, an unclean and outcast Samar- itan woman is given an opportunity to receive the living water. This Gospel passage also gives us Jesusrevelation about himself as the Source of Living Water and teach- es us that we need the grace of Jesus Christ for eternal life because he is that life- giving water. Life messages: 1) We need to allow Jesus free entry into our personal lives. 2) We need to be witnesses to Gods work in us, just as the Samaritan woman was, 3) We need to be open to others and accept others as they are, just as Jesus did. 4) We need to leave the husbandsbehind during Lent as the Samaritan woman did. 5) We need to turn to Jesus who loves us with non-judgmental, unconditional love. - Fr Ruwan - Sun 15/03 8:00am Mass 10:00am Mass 5:00pm Mass Mon 16/03 9:00am Mass / Rosary Tues 17/03 9:00am Mass / Rosary Wed 18/03 6:00pm Transfer of Bl Sac / Rosary 6:30pm Novena 7:00pm Mass Thurs 19/03 9:00am Mass / Rosary Fri 20/03 9:00am Mass / Rosary 6:30pm Stations of the Cross Sat 21/03 4:00pm Confessions 5:00pm Vigil Mass WE COME TOGETHER TO ENCOUNTER GOD, WELCOMING ONE ANOTHER JOYFULLY IN ACTIVE SERVICE 135 Years of Pastoral Care 1885 2020 Parish Mission Statement Safeguarding Office - Archdiocese of Sydney Abuse is a crime. The news youve seen on television, heard on radios, read in newspapers, talks on the street are varied - true in a sense and maybe untrue in another. I under- stand your concern and thank you for that as well as your prayers. In general I am in good shape, all my fellow priests (classmates) are in good spirits and good physical condition. The coronavirus is spreading like wild fire but it did not really burned me (or us here). We follow protocols and we are obedient priests of God on our sabbatical. I agree that its alarming but this will be over in due course, in Gods perfect time. We can complain like the people journeying in the desert from Egypt to the Promised Land (1st reading), but God the Father engages with us as who we are like He engages with the Samaritan woman. God is open to deal or dialogue with who or what we are. Amidst the current situa- tion (COVID-19) we can only trust in God as Abraham trusted in Gods promises. This will soon be over. Keep on trusting God, and doing the best you can, NOT to be carriers but to be antidotes to the virus. Amen! Keeping you all in my prayers here in Rome. I humbly ask you to remember me in your prayers too. - Fr Ed - REMINDER - TEMPORARY CHANGES at Mass To Minimise the risk of infection - Corona Virus To ensure the health and safety of parishioners.
