Queridas hermanas y hermanos en Cristo: Quiero ofrecerles un sincero “¡GRACIAS!” por una bienvenida tan cálida y amable a esta comunidad. Estoy tan emocionado de volver al ministerio parro-quial y me siento bendecido de estar aquí. Mi espe-ranza es que en el tiempo que Dios nos da para cami-nar juntos podamos ayudarnos unos a otros a crecer en santidad, sabiduría y amor. Quiero agradecer es-pecialmente a todos aquellos ministerios y grupos que asistieron en las recepciones después de todas las Misas. Fue realmente un maratón de pastel y ponche. La temporada del Tiempo Ordinario es una oportuni-dad para que reflexionemos profundamente sobre el significado del discipulado, es decir, “¿Cómo elijo diariamente servir a la misión de Jesucristo?” Así que anímo a todos a leer en oración las Escrituras para el próximo domingo. Dear sisters and brothers in Christ: I want to offer you a heartfelt “THANK YOU!” for such a warm and friendly welcome to this communi-ty. I am so excited to be back in parish ministry and feel blessed to be here. My hope is that in the time that God gives us to journey together we can help each other grow in holiness, wisdom and love. I want to especially thank all of those ministries and groups who assisted in the receptions after all the Masses. It was truly a marathon of cake and punch. The season of Ordinary Time is an opportunity for us to reflect more deeply on the meaning of disciple-ship, that is to say, “How do I daily choose to serve the mission of Jesus Christ?” So I would encourage everyone to read over prayerfully the Scriptures for this coming Sunday. Meditating on God’s holy Word and opening our hearts to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we walk by faith to the Kingdom. Be constantly vigilant anytime your children are near Water Drowning takes only a few seconds, especially when children have easy access to a body of water. Make sure children know the water safety rules — always go in with an adult, wear appropriate gear (floaties, gog-gles, etc.), and no unsupervised play near the pool. Be careful even at times when children are not supposed to be swimming, during meals, while cleaning, or any other non-pool time. Children can easily slip out unno-ticed and can reach the water.
