Happy Memorial Day!

"The purpose of life is to contribute in some way to making things better." (Robert F. Kennedy)

Next weekend (6/4 - 6/5) will be the first weekend of June. It is particularly important to donate to the

Wellesley Food Pantry during the summer. Did you know that one-third of those served by the Food Pantry are children? During the summer

months these children will not be receiving free or subsidized lunches at school placing an added

strain on family budgets. Also, many of those who donate are away.

“To love God and neighbor is not something abstract, but profoundly concrete: it means seeing in every person the face of the Lord to be served, to

serve Him concretely.”

(Pope Francis)

Our consistent monthly participation is greatly appreciated by those who depend on the Wellesley

Food Pantry. Your donations may be left in the bins at the front entrance of the church.

Daughters of Saint Paul

The Daughters of St. Paul, will be at St. Paul Parish after all the Masses this weekend,

May 28th & 29th. These Media Sisters will bring a wonderful selection of materials which they publish and produce. Be sure to

stop by and peruse their materials: Spiritual reading, Lives of the Saints, books for Children,

DVD’s, music and more! These wonderful items will assist you with the faith

formation of your family and provide good Spiritual reading as we continue in this

Jubilee Year of Mercy. Choose something to enrich your faith or to share it

with others! Additionally you can check out their website: www.pauline.org

St. Paul Girl Scout Leader Recognized by Archdiocese

In observation of Memorial Day St. Paul and St. John Office’s will be closed,

Monday May 30th.

Kimberly Meehan, leader of the girl scout troop that meets at St. Paul Parish, has received the Elizabeth

Ann Seton Award from the Archdiocese of Boston. This award recognizes the meritorious

contributions of adults who help Catholic youth develop their spiritual lives within the context of the girl scouts. Kim received her award on May 22 at

the Cathedral of the Holy Cross.

Honoring Five Decades Of

Priest’s Service

We honored five decades of a priest’s service on May 26 when both Fr. Brian Hehir and Fr. Tom Powers will

have reached that golden jubilee of service to the Church and God’s people.

Save the Date

St. Paul Parish choirs, soloists and orchestra will present their annual Christmas concert on December 4th, 2016

at 4:00 pm in the church.. This year’s program is special as it is part of the

celebration of the 100th anniversary of St. Paul Parish. Our program will include music from the St. Paul Oratorio by Felix Mendelssohn and has some very

exciting scenes in which Paul meets Jesus on the road to Damascus. Also, we will be singing our usual beautiful

Carols and the famous sing-along. Please put us on your calendar and come join us for this wonderful

celebration.

A Thank You Note from the Wellesley Food Pantry to the Thursday Morning Why Catholic

Group Many thanks for your generous donation of hams to the Wellesley Food Pantry! The clients loved the hams and

greatly appreciated you thinking of them. We are able to continue our mission of providing food to those in need through the generosity of the community.

How lucky are we that you all are important members of our community!

Why Catholic will resume this Fall.
