Advent is supposed to be a quiet, gentle time yet we hear the Lord describing global anguish and the catastrophic roaring of sea and waves, at the end of time. Before the new world comes,
the old has to be cleared away. The Lord says, “When these things begin to happen, stand up straight and raise your head, because your ransom, your redemption is at hand.”
