Beginning next weekend, November 19th, the Giving Trees will be in the back of the church with “angels” displayed on them. Each “angel” will contain a name of a child, adult or family, along with some items they may need. Each year we usually have about 4—6 angel gifts that are not returned. Gifts still need to be bought for these angels. A LITURGICAL REFLECTION FROM THE DIOCESE The Liturgy Office of the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown has printed the following reflection for this final week of this Jubilee “Year of Mercy”:

“We are directed to think of the end of time, that day when God appears in power and majesty, completing the mission of Jesus Christ with justice and righteousness. How would you live today differently if you knew it was to be your last? This past Jubilee Year of Mercy invites all of us to state that mercy needs to be practiced in our lives. When Jesus comes again in all His glory, may we be mercifully judged as a people who showed great mercy to the sisters and brothers. Compassion, love, kindness, forgiveness and gentleness mark the believer in the name of the Lord. Mercy shared is showing the face of God to another.” REMINDER: To place special prayer requests on the Parish Prayer Chain, please call Christine at 359-2654. And please continue to pray for all those requests. SUPPORT OUR ADVERTISERS! Please remember to check out and support the advertisers on the back of our church bulletin. Through their sponsorship, St. John’s Church bulletins are published each week! THANK YOU ADVERTISERS for continuing to sponsor our weekly bulletins!
