Dear Friends of Villa,it has been a remarkable year at St. John Villa academy! all have worked hard to strengthen our academic andextracurricular programs, our student leadership opportunities, and our community ties. did you know...?
• Our High School Class of 2013 received over $11 million in merit-based scholarships.
• Our High School Performing Arts students were recognized for their stellar talents by winning 4 Minty Awards – a new organization that honors theater excellence in Staten Island Catholic High Schools.
• Girl Scouts from our Elementary School Troop received the President’s Volunteer Service Award from President Barack Obama.
• Our Elementary School graduates were awarded acceptances and scholarships estimated at $40,000 to high schools in StatenIsland, Brooklyn and Manhattan.
While our students are empowered by academic success, we are equally inspired by the compassion and dedication theydemonstrated in serving the community in the aermath of hurricane Sandy.
• Students from both schools generously showed their support of friends and neighbors through school-sponsored events aswell as presence in the distribution centers.
• Both schools worked together to organize a Christmas Dinner for Villa families followed by guest tickets to the High SchoolConcert which honored “Sandy” victims.
We are proud of all that St. John Villa Academy Faculty and Staff under the educational leadership of Sr. Lucita Bacat, C.S.JB.(ES) and Mrs. Barbara Logan (HS) do to educate our students to be leaders in their faith, their schools and their communities.ey are able to carry out their important role because of the financial support of our alumni, parents, benefactors and friendsto the Annual Fund - a vital component of the Academy’s operating budget. a strong annual Fund allows us to sustaincurrent success and pursue future opportunities with confidence.
As we write to you, we are keenly aware that many still find themselves in uncertain economic times. However, the mission andreligious values that have always been intrinsic to Villa remain worthy of your continued support. We ask you to please give asgenerously as you can to the 2013-2014 annual Fund so that together we can provide the best possible education for ourstudents. You may make a onetime gi, or if more convenient, you may make a pledge which may be paid in installments.
As always, we thank you for all that you do to help make St. John Villa Academy the success that it is. Please join with us inthanking God for His providential care for each of us – past and present- in the Villa Family.
Gratefully,
Sr. Lois Darold C.S.JB. Sr. Anita Gramer C.S.JB.Executive Director Academy President
