Commemoration of the Dead
Let us pray. (Silence)
Almighty and everliving God, you have made all things in your wisdom and established the boundaries of life and death: Grant that all who have died may enjoy that rest and peace which you have appointed for your people; through Jesus Christ who is Resurrection and Life, and who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.
We pray especially for those who have died in the past year: Stephen Elgin, Elizabeth Ridout, Burns Nugent, Scott Auby, June Spencer, Louise Austin Remmey, Frida Burling, Iris Mann, Kathy Wirwahn and Dave Dougherty;
Let us pray. (Silence)
You, O Lord, have made us from the dust of the earth and to dust our bodies shall return; yet you have also breathed your Spirit upon us and called us to new life in you: Have mercy upon us, now and at the hour of our death; through Jesus Christ, our mediator and advocate. Amen.

Almighty God, you have knit together your elect in one communion and fellowship in the mystical body of your Son Christ our Lord: Give us grace so to follow your blessed saints in all virtuous and godly living, that we may come to those ineffable joys that you have prepared for those who truly love you; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen. Please be seated.
The Lesson
A Reading from the Book of Daniel
Daniel 7:1-3, 15-18
In the first year of King Belshazzar of Babylon, Daniel had a dream and visions of his head as he lay in bed. Then he wrote down the dream: I, Daniel, saw in my vision by night the four winds of heaven stirring up the great sea, and four great beasts came up out of the sea, different from one another. As for me, Daniel, my spirit was troubled within me, and the visions of my head terrified me. I approached one of the attendants to ask him the truth concerning all this. So he said that he would disclose to me the interpretation of the matter: "As for these four great beasts, four kings shall arise out of the earth. But the holy ones of the Most High shall receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom for ever—for ever and ever."
The Word of the Lord. People: Thanks be to God.
Please stand and remain standing until the sermon begins.
Celtic Alleluia Sung by the Cantor and all repeat.
The Gospel
Luke 6:20-31
The Holy Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ According to Luke. People: Glory to you, Lord Christ.
Jesus looked up at his disciples and said: "Blessed are you who are poor,
for yours is the kingdom of God. "Blessed are you who are hungry now,
for you will be filled. "Blessed are you who weep now,
for you will laugh. "Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you, revile you, and defame you on account of the Son of Man. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, for surely your reward is great in heaven; for that is what their ancestors did to the prophets. "But woe to you who are rich,
for you have received your consolation. "Woe to you who are full now,
for you will be hungry. "Woe to you who are laughing now,
for you will mourn and weep. "Woe to you when all speak well of you, for that is what their ancestors did to the false prophets
"But I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. If anyone strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also; and from anyone who takes away your coat do not withhold even your shirt. Give to everyone who begs from you; and if anyone takes away your goods, do not ask for them again. Do to others as you would have them do to you."
The Gospel of the Lord. People: Praise to you, Lord Christ. Celtic Alleluia (all repeat one verse)
Please be seated for the sermon.

THE HOLY COMMUNION
Eucharistic Prayer A
The people remain standing.
The Lord be with you. People And also with you. Celebrant Lift up your hearts. People We lift them to the Lord. Celebrant Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. People It is right to give our thanks and praise.
The Celebrant proceeds
It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give thanks to you, Almighty God, creator of heaven and earth.
Because in Jesus Christ our Lord you have received us as your sons and daughters, made us citizens of your kingdom, and given us the Holy Spirit to guide us in to all truth.
Therefore we praise you, joining our voices with Angels and Archangels and with all the company of heaven, who for ever sing this hymn to proclaim the glory of your Name:
Sanctus LAND OF REST
The people may stand or kneel as the celebrant continues.
Holy and gracious Father: In your infinite love you made us for yourself; and, when we had
fallen into sin and become subject to evil and death, you, in your mercy, sent Jesus Christ,
your only and eternal Son, to share our human nature, to live and die as one of us, to
reconcile us to you, the God and Father of all. He stretched out his arms upon the cross, and
offered himself in obedience to your will, a perfect sacrifice for the whole world.
On the night he was handed over to suffering and death, our Lord Jesus Christ took bread;
and when he had given thanks to you, he broke it, and gave it to his disciples, and said, “Take,
eat: This is my Body, which is given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.”
After supper he took the cup of wine; and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them,
and said, “Drink this, all of you: This is my Blood of the new Covenant, which is shed for
you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Whenever you drink it, do this for the
remembrance of me.”
Therefore we proclaim the mystery of faith:
Christ has died.
Christ is risen.
Christ will come again.
The Celebrant continues
We celebrate the memorial of our redemption, O Father, in this sacrifice of praise and
thanksgiving. recalling his death, resurrection, and ascension, we offer you these gifts.
Sanctify them by your Holy Spirit to be for your people the Body and Blood of your Son, the
holy food and drink of new and unending life in him. Sanctify us also that we may faithfully
receive this holy Sacrament, and serve you in unity, constancy, and peace; and at the last day
bring us with all your saints into the joy of your eternal kingdom. All this we ask through
your Son Jesus Christ. By him, and with him, and in him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit all
honor and glory is yours, Almighty Father, now and for ever. AMEN. And now, as our savior Jesus Christ has taught us, we are bold to say:
The Lord’s Prayer BCP P 364
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
