It's a matter of great privilege and immense pleasure for me to be part of this prestigious institution at St. Joseph's Convent Sr. Sec. School, Ratlam. The year 2019-20, has its theme, “Dreaming for a Better Me and We”. It is a well-known fact that progress is based on dreams and dreams demand change, and change requires learning. Today's children are dreamers they dream of progress, development and growth. They firmly believe that their dreams would lead to revolutionary ideas and eventually to action.

The Josephite gears towards academic and human excellence. We create an awareness our students that the world outside is very competitive and we have got to think way ahead with a vision, and up with an advancing technology. Our vision is to make students virtuous in life through holistic education for human excellence.

Education is an engine for the growth and progress of any society. It is not only imparting knowledge, skills and inculcates values, but is also responsible for building human capital which breeds, drives and sets technological innovation and economical growth. Education is a light that shows the right direction in life. The purpose of education is not just to make a student literate but to enhance the ability to think rationally.

In this institution we the staff are hardworking potters who mould the students into strong, capable, confident, young personalities who have dreams for themselves and go out to all parts of the world and to make a success of life. We instill in the students moral, spiritual, social, cultural and intellectual dimension, through the active dimension of teaching learning process, that takes place to enable our students to hold their heads high.

It is aptly said, “A teacher is a compass that activates the magnets of curiosity, knowledge and wisdom” As teachers we shall strive to mould our students into leaders of thought and action,into agents of proactive social transformation, so that we can leave behind us a better and more humane world.

Let's not forget as Mahatma Gandhi said, “Formation of character should have priority over knowledge of the alphabet.”

Learning is not a process limited to schools and colleges

right to avail the opportunity to reach towards his/her full

potential and it is the duty of every teacher to draw out that

St. Joseph's Convent School, Ratlam was founded in 1956 under the aegis of

the Indian Province of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambery as per provisions

of the Constitution of India part 111 Article 30 (i). It is administered by the Sisters

of St. Joseph's Convent, Ratlam in compliance with general rules governing

the above Congregation.

St. Joseph's Convent Senior Secondary School, Ratlam is an exemplary

English Medium School. The School is recognised by the Central Board of

Secondary Education, New Delhi. The School prepares and grooms students

for the All India Secondary and Senior Secondary School Certificate

Examinations.

The School is lovingly dedicated to St. Joseph, the foster father of Jesus Christ.

It's motto “VIRTUE ALONE ENNOBLES' means that Virtues are the moral

instruments through which Noble and dignified character is formed. According

to the Holy Scriptures, ST. JOSEPH was a JUST man par excellence,

possessing all virtues in a perfect degree. God had found in St. Joseph a

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The School aims at developing not just the IQ (intelligence

Quotient), but also SQ (Spiritual Quotient) and HQ (Happiness

Quotient) of the students. To attend this goal all the members of

this School community, parents, teachers, administrative staff

work in loving cooperation, with a spirit of dedication in service.

The pedagogy adopted in school focuses on training and

sharpening students' intellectual, moral, emotional, physical,

social and aesthetic faculties to the fullest. Thus the students are

saved from falling into the trap of becoming ‘intellectual monsters’

with a bloated head but a tiny heart.

The Sisters in their endeavour, to achieve this, draw their

inspiration from Jesus Christ who lived and sacrificed his life so

that humans can discover their ultimate purpose in life.

The motto of St. Joseph’s Convent, S. S. School,

Ratlam, inscribed within a shield is “Virtue Alone

Ennobles”. The students are taught that what

makes them noble is not only education, or the

colour of the skin, or the race to which they

belong. But its CHARACTER, which is formed by

the practice of certain virtues, inculcating which,

is a life long process. So students of SJC, have to

work at becoming noble all their lives. Whatever

they are, wherever they go, and in whatever they

do, they must remember this important work of

becoming noble through the practice of virtues. It

is their prerogative to be kind, gentle, respectful,

helpful, cheerful, hard working and enthusiastic

at all times. The letters S and J stand for SAINT

JOSEPH, whose qualities students should

imitate and develop. Like St. Joseph they will be

available for service in a quiet and humble way,

put their faith in God their loving Father, be

sensitive to the feelings of others, and care about

their welfare.

With fire in their bellies, intellectual streak in their heads and passion in their

hearts, our teachers are well equipped to have a comprehensive and

cognitive approach towards 360° learning unlike traditional outdated

teaching methods.

(360 learning incorporate a broad set of goals for learners such as students

mastery of content, their abilities to analyse and critique, the development

of their reasoning faculty that enables them to consider various career

options).

Our faculty members possess specialized knowledge in their respective

subject. The pedagogical training allows them to deeply understand the stchallenges of learning process in this 21 century.

SPORTS ACTIVITIES

The School has a very big play ground with additional basketball, hand ball, volley

ball courts. All the team games are played here (Intramurals) such as cricket,

football etc. Every alternate year the Athletic Meet is held. So far we have

completed 27 Atheletic Meets.

In our school there are four houses among which the Intraschool Sports events are

held. All these four houses have their Motto & Symbols.
