Christmas for needed children, Bags will be give out Deceember 21. We need presents wrap and mark with age and gender no later than December 17 and 18 please, ages 1 to 11

years old. The Christmas bags will be giving out on December 21. Giving out Present so parents can give to children on Christmas

Day.

Hay que estar atentos a las señales de Jesús

Las señales son importantes. De igual manera que comprendemos el lenguaje, los signos nos dan fuertes mensajes y a veces comunican incluso más que las palabras. Un enamorado espera una señal de amor de su amada. Un hijo que tiene a un papá o mamá enfermo, busca signos que le den esperanza de vida. Un hombre que ande por el desierto tiene los ojos bien abiertos para ver dónde hay signos de agua o de vida. Dame una señal, le decimos a Dios muchas veces. Hay personas que ven señales de Dios en cosas que no lo son; es decir, podría ser que vieran una señal en algo que a toda vista es todo lo contrario a lo que quiere Dios. Buscamos señales, signos, luces que nos indiquen por dónde caminar o hacia dónde dirigirnos; a veces esa búsqueda es un escape de la necesidad de tomar una decisión. Espero que Dios me dé una señal sobre lo que tengo que hacer con mi vida y, como no llega, no hago lo que sé dentro de mi corazón que debería hacer. Quizá no haya visto que la señal es precisamente eso: la sed o el deseo del corazón, la inclinación a hacer algo al servicio de otros. Hoy las lecturas nos dicen que la señal, la única señal que nos va a indicar todos nuestros caminos, es la venida de Jesús al mundo. El Hijo de Dios se hace hombre. Eso debería ser suficiente para indicarnos todos los caminos a Jesús; porque, si su vida fue de entrega a su Padre y de cumplimiento de su voluntad, así debe ser la nuestra; si su vida fue de servicio generoso, así debe ser la nuestra; si su

vida fue de perdón y sanación, tal debería ser la nuestra.

No nos hace falta más señal: Jesús, que viene al mundo, es camino, verdad y vida.

Para la reflexión: ¿Dónde suelo buscar luces para el camino? ¿Persigo algo

alguna vez con entusiasmo solamente para darme cuenta más

tarde de que ahí no está mi felicidad, ni la voluntad de Dios

para mí? ¿Dónde puedo encontrar las señales que me

indiquen por dónde caminar

We Must Remain Alert to the Signs from Jesus

Signs are very important. In the same way we understand language, signs can sometimes provide powerful messages and sometimes they communicate even more than words do. A person in love waits for a sign of love of his or her beloved. A son whose parent is ill seeks signs to give him hopes of life. A man walking through the desert keeps his eyes open for signs of water or life. Give me a sign, we tell God many times. There are people who see signs of God in things that are not really such signs; in other words, they might see a sign in something that is clearly the opposite of what God may want. We seek signs, symbols, lights to show us where to go or where we are heading; and sometimes this search may even become an escape from the need to make a decision. I expect God to give me a sign about what I should do with my life and, since I don’t see any, I don’t do what deep in my heart I feel should be done. Perhaps what I should see is that the sign is precisely the thirst or desire of the heart, the inclination to doing something in the service of others. Today the readings tell us that the sign, the only sign that will show all our paths is the coming of Jesus into the world. The Son of God becomes a man. That should be enough to show us all the ways leading to Jesus; because, if his life was one of self-giving to God and fulfilling of God’s will, our life should be the same; if his life was one of generous service, such should be ours; if his life was one of forgiveness and healing, so should ours. We don’t need any more signs: Jesus, who comes into the world, is our way, truth and life.

For Reflection Where do I usually look for guidance in my journey of

life? Do I sometimes engage enthusiastically in something

to later discover that my happiness is not there and it is not

God’s will for me? Where can I find signs to help me see

the way that I must follow?
