THANK YOU - On Friday, May 19th we celebrated the 10th anniversary of Ordination to Priesthood for
Fr. Chis Kulig, Fr. Robert Pajor and Fr. Chris Ciaston. Over 250 people attended the bilingual Mass and the reception afterward. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone involved in the preparations and to all who helped during the event. CORPUS CHRISTI-JUNE 18 Thanks to many efforts of several families from our parish, this year in a very special way we will be celebrating this Feast. Four beautiful banners and tablecloths were purchased and four stations complete with altars will be erected around our church for that day. Everyone is invited to participate in a bilingual Mass at 12:30pm and then the procession. First Communion children, children and adults in traditional reginal costumes are strongly encouraged to participate, all are welcome.
Uroczystość Najświętszego Ciała i Krwi Chystusa przypada w niedzielę 18-go czerwca. W tym roku w bardzo specjalny i uroczysty sposób będziemy przeżywać to święto dzięki wielu staraniom kilku rodzin z naszej parafii. Zakupione zostały cztery piękne banery, obrusy i zainstalowane zostaną cztery stacje z ołtarzami. Jeśli ktoś chce się przyczynić do ubioru ołtarzy (kwiaty, świece) to bardzo prosimy o kontakt z Jadwigą: 773-662-4655. Dear Friends,
Sing to the Lord, with shouts of Joy! If you noticed last weekend there was a pause after the Cantor announced the hymn and before I started playing. I see a lot of things behind the bench. I see the lost getting found, the hopeless finding strength, I see so many spiritual experiences every weekend. Last week I also witnessed many of you opening our new Ritual Song Hymnals. The greatest gift I receive during mass is when all of you sing.
I would personally like to offer its heartfelt thanks to everyone who made a charitable donation to our hymnal fundraising campaign. Because of your generosity, our hymnal fundraiser was a huge success. Your continued commitment to our Music Ministry is greatly appreciated, and we could not have done it without you.
The Hymnal Donor Badges are in! Over the next three weeks, they will be placed in the pack of the hymnal
dedicated to the memory of your loved ones. They will reside in our church and be used by the members of this
community for years to come. May you be abundantly blessed for your kind offerings.
I also want to remind all of you that The Order of Mass can be found on the first two pages of our new Ritual Song Hymnals. This includes the Gloria, Nicene Creed, Apostles’ Creed, and much more. The weekend readings, responsorial Psalm, and Gospel can be found in the back of the hymnal.
Saint Augustine preached that singing is like praying twice. Singing as an assembly encourages us as a faith
community to raise our voices as one. It is my hope that I select both liturgical, and devotional hymns that will emotionally and spiritually lead you to a closer relationship with God, but also with your spirit, with yourself.
While we can sing anytime we want, it is important to understand the purpose and importance of an assembly that sings. What it means to lift our voices in praise. The prayer’s that we find in between the notes, the peace, the forgiveness, the healing, and the praise.

Obraz Matki Boskiej Częstochowskiej, od grudnia 2003 roku, jest wystawiony w naszym kościele na ołtarzu Matki Bożej. Inicjatorką powstania tego obrazu była parafianka Dorota Pradziad-Hyc, a namalowała go ukraińska artystka Tatyana Kelvich. 7-go grudnia 2003 roku ks. Edmund Jastrzębski dokonał poświęcenia tego obrazu dla upamiętnienia 25-cio lecia pontyfikatu Papieża Jana Pawla II.
W niedzielę 11-go czerwca br. podczas Mszy Św. o godz. 10.45am odbędzie się koronacja tegoż obrazu. Fundatorem złotej korony jest Dorota Pradziad-Hyc. Koronę zaprojektowała zakopiańska artystka ludowa Anna Szyzdek, wykonał Zbigniew Kocur z zakładu jubilerskiego "Ted's Jewelers", którego właścicielką jest Anna Pawlikowska.

The picture was initiated by Dorota Pradziad-Hyc and was painted by Tatyana Kelvich. On June 11th
at the 10:45am Mass a golden crown studded with jewels will be attached to the picture. The crown was founded by Dorota Pradziad-Hyc and was crafted by
Zbigniew Kocur from Ted’s Jewelers.

Question: Is it true that the feast of Pentecost, the celebration of the descent of the
Spirit upon the followers of Jesus, was a Jewish pilgrimage festival?
Answer: Pentecost is only mentioned in the
Acts of the Apostles, written by the author of Luke's Gospel.
John's Gospel speaks of Jesus breathing the Spirit upon his
followers on Easter Sunday. Luke in Acts is the only one who
unpacks the Easter events of Jesus' passion, death,
resurrection, ascension, and the sending forth of the Spirit in a
period of fifty days.
The Jews had three pilgrimage feasts--Passover, celebrating the Exodus from Egypt; Shavuot, or
festival of Weeks, celebrating the giving of the law on Mount Sinai; and Sukkot, the harvest festival of Booths, commemorating the forty years of wandering in the desert. Shavuot celebrated the central
covenant event in Jewish life--the giving of the law to Moses on
Mount Sinai. The mighty wind, the shaking of the house in which the
followers were gathered, along with the tongues of fire all reflect elements surrounding the giving
of the law to Moses in the Book of Exodus. Luke was imaging this
very backdrop and scenario in this significant event of the
community being gifted with the Spirit. As the Torah was the way to God for Jews, so Jesus' Spirit was
the guide, power, and path to God for his followers.
