BUILDING FRIENDSHIPS

On Saturday, May 7, more than 50 people from five different faith

communities in Sugar Land joined together to work at the

St. Laurence Habitat House build site in Richmond. These faith

communities –Christ Church, the Ismaili Center, Congregation

Beth El, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and

St. Laurence – are part of an initiative called the Fort Bend

Interfaith Council. This group is working together to help foster

a spirit of friendship and respect between Fort Bend’s diverse

faith communities by means of social action projects, prayer

services, and fellowship gatherings throughout the community.

Together at the Habitat build, the interfaith group cleared and

leveled the lot, laid sod, and planted trees & flower beds.

Everyone enjoyed getting to know one another while pitching in

to build a new home for a wonderful family!
