A Note from Fr. Craig
Dear Parishioners, Sometime later this week or into next, you will receive your quarterly statement and our end of the year report. Please look for this mail and read over the report. If you have any questions, you can call me. I thank you all for wearing masks here at Church. We have people coming to St Leo’s because we wear masks. We ask everyone to continue wearing them. If you can, bring your own otherwise we do have masks here. I also ask you to receive communion in the hand. I understand some of you like to receive directly on the tongue. But for now please use your hand. Sometimes people will exhale on my fingers as I place the host on the tongue and it would contaminate my hand. So if anyone comes and wants to receive on the tongue, I will ask for your hand. Over the summer our principal Mr. Sepich has finished his PhD. We congratulate him for such a great accomplishment. We will now call him Dr. Sepich. Have a great week. Fr. Craig
In Pursuit of Life, Love and Happiness
By: Deacon Jim Shipman
“What will separate us from the love of Christ?” That is St. Paul’s opening line of our second read-ing. This scripture is so relevant to what going on today in our world. We are filled with anguish and distress. Our faith is being perse-cuted and people are in fear for their lives. We must remember that neither life nor death, or any-thing that is going on in our life will separated from the Love of God in Christ Jesus. Some people choose to walk away from God, they even claim to hate Him, but even in their sins, God still loves them and desires to accept them into His Kingdom.
Our First Reading from Isaiah and Matthew’s Gospel speak of God’s never ending love to give us all that we need if we but follow Him. Just as Jesus feeds the five thou-sand men with five loaves and two fish, our God is ready to provide all our needs if we turn to Him and accept His Love, Mercy and Peace.
We see people around us com-plaining about how they are treat-ed and how the other person is better off. Our human pride and selfishness have always caused division, discrimination and hatred toward one another. As God’s children we need to realize the answer to stop all this anguish and distress is to turn to God. Nothing will stop this insanity in our nation and world except the Love, Grace and Peace of Jesus Christ. Our only hope for our society is for all Christians to turn to Our Lord in deep prayer to ask for mercy and forgiveness. Only Jesus Christ can heal our land and fulfill all our needs.
New Money Counter Team Needed We are in need of a new money counter team made up of 6 people who would count our Sunday collection in the months of February, May, August and November. If you would like to help us count our collections, please call the office and talk to Betsy at 402-397-0407. We have had some people retire, and others move away.
