You received me here this summer with open arms and have been great hosts, showing me nothing but kindness and support since I first arrived. I have had many experiences here that I will be taking with me on my journey as I go and I have learned many life lessons along the way. I am honored to be a part of such a loving and supportive diocese and I am grateful for the support you show us seminarians and also grateful for having this opportunity to spend a summer in parish life. Before entering seminary, I attended school at the University of South Dakota, I was studying Strategic Communications in the media and journalism school; for my first year and a half of college I was very lost and had no idea what my life would bring, I was far from God and was even doubting his existence. During Christmas break my sophomore year, I attended a FOCUS college conference in Dallas, Texas. For the first time in my entire life I encountered Christ in a way that I had never before. Christ became a real person to me which I had never experienced, I knew who he was and I knew that God the Father loved me because I was his beloved Son as Christ was. In this conversion experience I started to ask big questions like “what does God have planned for my life.” It was on a silent retreat at the beginning of my junior year that I felt a call to discern the priesthood and I spent that whole year discerning this call and felt drawn to seminary this past year. God has taught me many things and has brought me many places in life to help show me just where it is that he wants me to be. Through these experiences that God has given me, I have not felt that he truly is calling me to be his priest, but has instead brought me to seminary to help me grow as a holy catholic man. It is with a happy heart that I close this chapter in my life knowing that I have put my trust in God and will continue to trust that I am following his call for my life. This coming fall I will be returning to the University of South Dakota to finish my degree and I ask all of you for your prayers as I take this step in my life. Again, I am so grateful for this summer and I am overwhelmed with joy that I was able to spend it with all of you, God Bless You All and I will continue my prayers for you. A Family Perspective by Bud Ozar In today’s gospel “the apostles gathered around and told Jesus all they had done.” Listening allows the other person to express, understand and appreciate their experiences. Whether it is the excited chatter of young child or the repetitious stories of an aging grandparent, listening is important. It is not just time well spent, it is sacred time.

Church Contributions If you are tired of remembering to do a weekly envelope (cash or check) for contributions to the church, consider doing a bill payment out of your bank checking account to the church. You can do this weekly or monthly. This will help the church’s finance budgets for when you are out of town on the weekends or summers.

THANK YOU!! The St Leo & St Vincent youth and I would like to thank everyone for their support throughout the year. The blessings of your prayers had a big impact on our encounter with Christ last weekend at the Steubenville/Rochester youth conference. Thank you for your financial support as we strived to raise money for our trip. We appreciate your help and thank you for

your generous hearts. Thank you, Deb Branaugh for sending us off with Tyndall bakery rolls. What a nice surprise! We would like to thank our chaperones for investing their time and leading us towards Christ. Finally, we thank the parents for partnering together to give their child a powerful encounter with Christ that will hopefully plant those seeds in their lives to want to know, love, and serve Him. Yours truly, The youth of St Leo & St Vincent Parishes and JoLynn Weber
