COMPANY HISTORY
St. Maarten Nectar was born in a simple kitchen in Simpson Bay on the island of Sint Maarten.
Nalia Muriel, our founder, came to St. Maarten and discovered that her very sensitive skin was not agreeing with the industrial made products that were found on the market. The daily use of chemical mosquito repellents and sun blocks were drying out her skin terribly and were well against her natural beliefs. These industrial products weren't providing her with the natural nourishment she desired and that prompted her into making her own skin care remedies. After her years of careful studies, research and practice, she came up with simple formulas containing only the purest of nature’s plant based ingredients that are effective and the complete opposite of most products in the cosmetic industry.
At one point, her circle of friends and family were constantly coming back each time for more supplies of her natural creams and oils. Their positive demands urged her to achieve her certifications, licenses and everything necessary to make her creations available to all.
She started professionally with only Bug O%™, our all natural mosquito repellent, which grew tremendously by simply word of mouth due to its effectiveness. Our much gentler formula Baby Bug O%™ subsequently followed as she also wanted to provide safe and effective protection for babies 3 months & older. Baby Bug O% is now prescribed by local pediatricians and is available in most pharmacies on the island.
Presently, after a decade of commitment and love for natural skin care, we now carry over 200 different products that are all locally produced in St. Maarten. Our collections include products for the Face, Body, Hair, Sun Protection, Baby Care, Home Fragrances and Aromas that were all curated with the science of aromatherapy. As mentioned, we strive to only provide our customers with the purest nature has too offer. All ingredients used in our products are 100% plant-based and contain absolutely no chemicals. At St. Maarten Nectar we even macerate our own flower oils such as Jazmin, Chamomile and Calendula. We also offer our guests tours of our lab facilities and for a even funner experience, you can ask about our Soaps & Lotion Making classes. A different way to take home the essence of the island with you!
With our 4 retail stores, wellness Spa and innovative website, we are very proud to be a worldwide distributor of locally made all natural skin care. Our huge love and respect for nature keeps us fully committed to keeping all of our products chemical free and never tested on animals.

Roucou Body & Hair Oil - n.2 Why is this one of our best seller? For starters, Roucou Seeds are indigenous to our territory. The Arawaks (Amerindians) crushed the seeds into a powder and spread it over their body and hair to protect themselves from the sun (and even mosquitos) naturally. Roucou Seeds or its botanical name Bixa Orellana contains more of the betacarotene than carrots = Vitamin A which is perfect promoter of skin regeneration and rejuvenation.
