A Prayer for Mothers
Dear God,
on this day that we honor mothers,
may we draw strength
from the mothers who went before us.
May we remember Jochebed, mother of Moses,
who gave her son over to God's providence
when forces that threatened him were beyond her control.
May we remember the mother of Mary, St. Anne,
who helped her daughter learn an openness to God's will.
May we remember St. Monica,
who suffered an abusive spouse and her son's poor choices,
but lived to see her child's return to God. Most of all, we remember Mary.
Though she watched her child suffer and die,
she also saw his resurrection and glory
and was in turn glorified by him.
Amen.

Thank you to all our St. Mark altar servers and
their families for participations in Lenten Stations,
Holy Week services the Easter Vigil and Easter
Sunday! Your efforts help to make the season
special for all.
A few requests and reminders to our current altar
servers as we wind down the Easter Season:
1. Please hang up Albs, Cassocks and Surplices
unless they need to be washed. This really
helps to keep the closets organized.
2. Remember to check Ministry Pro a few days
before Mass to see if any sub requests are
needed as well as enter your own sub request
if you have a conflict.
3. If you have any photo’s from Holy Week or
Easter please send them on to Lynn Wagner!

“The most important
part of the Catholic
Church is the parish;
because the parish
impacts people’s lives
directly. It is in the
parish setting where we
receive the Body and
Blood of Christ, listen to
the Word of God
proclaimed, and find
forgiveness of our sins in
reconciliation. The
parish is the place
where the community
strives to support each
other in the journey of
faith.”

Did you know that a sacrament is defined as: “an outward sign of an inward grace”?
Sacraments are the most intimate connection we have to receiving God through the outpouring of grace.
We wish to congratulate all of our parishioners who have recently received sacraments. St. Mark was blessed
to have several adults at the Easter Vigil receive the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation.
Additionally, our RE program celebrated our 42 First Communicants who made their First Holy Communion
on Sunday, April 28th. We are continuing to pray for our 14 Teen Confirmandi who are preparing to receive
Confirmation on Monday, May 13th.
It’s Sacramental Season!
