giving. All donations will be forwarded to the parish that you
indicate.

only on Tuesday and Thursday 9:00am-4:00pm. No walk-ins

Archbishop Kurtz is issuing a dispensation from the obligation
to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation for the
Archdiocese of Louisville, until further notice. Anyone who is
sick or living with someone who is sick should stay home, as
should anyone who feels vulnerable for other reasons. Parishes
offering livestreamed and recorded Masses should continue to
do so and should communicate those options for those who
cannot be physically present. For parishes unable to offer
access to Mass online, please direct parishioners to the listing
of these Masses at www.archlou.org/COVID-19.
Face Mask: We also are asking all parishioners who attend
Mass to wear a mask or face covering. I know that many find
this a burden, but our call as Catholics is to promote the
common good. We know that persons who are not experiencing
symptoms may carry and spread the COVID-19 virus, and this
measure protects those people with whom you come in contact.
All parishioners should wash their hands thoroughly
before attending Mass and after using the restroom at Church,
and they should be encouraged to take their own temperature
at home before attending Mass.
Allow a minimum of six feet between families or individuals
in pews and during communion.
While large funerals and memorial Masses are impossible to celebrate right now, The Record has created an online memorial page to celebrate and pray for the departed. Anyone in the Archdiocese of Louisville who has lost a loved one during the pandemic — to any cause — is invited to submit a memorial on their website. Their names will also be listed in print so that their readers may pray for them. www.therecordnewspaper.org.

Sixth Sunday of Easter: “…sanctify Christ the Lord. Always be ready to make a defense to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you.” 1 Peter 3:15 Actions speak louder than words. Let your stewardship be your reply. Stewardship involves a change of heart, embodied not just in a single action, nor even a series of actions, but in a way of living.
Cemetery Information
Cemetery Main Gate is open Tuesday - Friday and Holidays 8:00am-4:30pm. Call the parish office to schedule other times. If you have flowers on your loved one’s headstones, please make sure they are presentable and in accordance with the Parish Cemetery Policy. To purchase plots, call the office at 270-828-2552, Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm.
Just a Friendly Reminder: Mowing season is here, so please
keep in mind, the cemetery policy regarding no flowers or
decorations on the ground as they should be placed on
headstone. This makes it much easier for all those hard-
working mowers and weed eaters to keep our cemetery
beautiful. Thanks so much for your cooperation and
understanding.

creating hope for the poor and
vulnerable. And, we continue to serve

those that need. In fact, we have stepped up to serve our
community in a multitude of ways to include: serving meals to
west Louisville residents and homebound, translating of COVID
documents so all residents can be informed about the virus,
teleconferencing with refugee, expectant mothers, elderly
residents and human trafficking survivors to meet needs from
afar, an funding parish food pantries around the Archdiocese.

PRAYER TO OUR LADY OF
PROMPT SUCCOR O Mary, Mother of God, through the
years, your people have called on your
intercession in times of epidemic and
illness. We call on you, now, as our
mother and ask that you pray for us,
that we might find healing and refuge,
and a quick end to this time of illness. Be
to us truly Our Lady of Prompt Succor
and draw us ever closer to your Son,
the source of all healing and
consolation. Our Lady of Prompt
Succor, hasten to help us. Amen.
Act of Spiritual Communion Prayer
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen
Marriage Moments: Deep questions: Who is God? What is love? “Whoever loves me [Jesus] will be loved by my Father [God] and I will love them.” (John 14:21) Yes, God is love but we humans know love through physical, emotional, and intellectual commitment. How do each of you show your love for God and to each other? Parenting Pointers: Surprise someone with a compliment today. It can be someone in the family, a neighbor, or a stranger. Even if just one person in the family does it, maybe it will catch on. It is the effort and thought that count. By Susan
Vogt, www.SusanVogt.net
Word of Life: As Americans, as Catholics, and as pastors of our people, we write therefore today to call our fellow citizens back to our country’s founding principles, and most especially to renew our national respect for the rights of those who are unborn, weak, disabled, and terminally ill. Real freedom rests on the inviolability of every person as a child of God.

Prayer to your Guardian Angel
when you cannot attend Daily Mass
O HOLY ANGEL at my side,
Go to Church for me,
Kneel in my place, at Holy Mass,
Where I desire to be.
At Offertory, in my stead,
Take all I am and own,
And place it as a sacrifice
Upon the Altar Throne.
At Holy Consecration’s bell,
Adore with Seraph’s love,
My Jesus hidden in the Host,
Come down from Heaven above.
Then pray for those I dearly love,
And those who cause me grief,
That Jesus’ Blood may cleanse all hearts,
And suff’ring souls relieve.
And when the priest Communion takes,
Oh, bring my Lord to me,
That His sweet Heart may rest on mine,
And I His temple be.
Pray that this Sacrifice Divine,
May mankind’s sins efface;
Then bring me Jesus’ blessing home,
The pledge of every grace. Amen
"If we only knew how God regards this Sacrifice ,
we would risk our lives to be present at a single
Mass." Saint Padre Pio
THE MAGNIFICAT
My soul magnifies the Lord
And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior;
Because He has regarded the lowliness of His
handmaid;
For behold, henceforth all generations shall call
me blessed;
Because He who is mighty has done great things
for me,
and holy is His name;
And His mercy is from generation to generation
on those who fear Him.
He has shown might with His arm,
He has scattered the proud in the conceit of their
heart.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
and has exalted the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich He has sent away empty.
He has given help to Israel, his servant, mindful
of His mercy
Even as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and
to his posterity forever
Prayer for a Pandemic
May we who are merely inconvenienced remember those whose lives are at stake. May we who have no risk factors remember those most vulnerable. May we who have the luxury of working from home remember those who must choose between preserving their health or making their rent. May we who have the flexibility to care for our children when their schools close remember those who have no options. May we who have to cancel our trips remember those that have no place to go. May we who are losing our margin money in the tumult of the economic market remember those who have no margin at all. May we who settle in for a quarantine at home remember those who have no home. During this time when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other, let us yet find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbors. Amen. “This prayer was shared by Fr. Larry Tensi and is used with permission” -www.archlou.org.
