Continuamos viviendo cobro a cobro ya que nuestros fondos son muy limitados. Si pudiéramos aumentar nuestro ofertorio semanal a $10,500 sería una gran ayuda, ya que nos permitiría pagar
la factura de nuestra parroquia a tiempo.
Nos damos cuenta de que la Campaña Católica está en marcha, pero esperamos que podamos continuar y mantener su ofertorio semanal, así como la colecta de combustible el próximo fin de
semana.

We were able to pay all of our bill for the
month of February!
In January we announced that we were p r o j e c t i n g a m o n t h l y shortfall $10,000.00. Thanks to your generosity we paid the February’s parish
bills on time!
We continue to live collection to collection as our funds are very tight. If we could increase our weekly o f f e r t o r y t o $ 1 0 , 5 0 0 . 0 0 it would be a big help, allowing us to pay our
Parish’s bill on time.
We realize that the Catholic Appeal is underway but we hope that you will we able to continue and maintain your weekly offertory as well as the fuel
collection next weekend.

LENT 2019
Ash Wednesday – March 6 “Return to me with all your heart….” These
words of the prophet Joel are God’s word to
all Christians on the first day of Lent. We hope you
and your families will join with us at one of our
liturgies of Ash Wednesday.
The Schedule of Services
7:00 AM -- A Bilingual Prayer Service
12:00 Noon -- Mass in English
5:00 PM -- Mass in English
6:30 PM -- Mass in Spanish
Ashes will only be distributed as part of the liturgy.
Who may receive ashes?
Baptized individuals who have reached the age
of reason. It is not appropriate to give ashes to
infants and very young children who have not
yet received the Sacrament of Reconciliation
because they are not yet capable of personal sin.
We will offer this blessing for infants and
young children: “May you remain free of sin
and faithful to the Gospel all the days of your life.” Ashes to the Homebound
If there is a member of your family who is
homebound you may request ashes after the service in
the sacristy. We will give you an envelope with
ashes and a brief prayer service you can pray at home. Fasting and Abstinence
Catholics 14 years of age and older are to
abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday and all
the Fridays of Lent.
Fasting is to be observed by Catholics between the
ages of 18 and 59. They should eat one full meal and
2 smaller meals to maintain strength according to
one’s needs. They should not eat in between meals.
These traditional practices are ways to both foster
a healthy body and center our minds and hearts
on God.

Sacrament of Reconciliation The light is on for you!
Each Tuesday during Lent, beginning March 12,
we will offer the opportunity for the Sacrament of
Reconciliation. We will begin at 5:30; stop at
6:30 for Mass and then continue after Mass.
We hope you will take this opportunity to
celebrate this sacrament, especially if you
haven’t celebrated the sacrament in a while.
Remember the sacrament is a celebration of
God’s mercy and forgiveness. Please share this
information with family members and friends

We will pray the Stations of the Cross in the chapel
after the 12 noon Mass every Friday during Lent
beginning on March 8.

Every year our parish prays the Stations of the Cross in the streets of our parish. Rehearsals continue today, Sunday at 2:30 in the church. We invite you to participate.

This reading explains that quality and truth in
conversation is a test for humankind. Only after
listening to a person's reasoning can we know the mind

Paul speaks of the mystery of transformation that is
victory over death when our mortality puts on
immortality. We are encouraged by Paul to be steadfast
and immovable, filling our lives with the work of the
Lord.
Gospel: Luke 6:39-45
Today, Jesus teaches through the use of parables, first
encouraging us to be like the teacher, understand that
the blind cannot lead the blind. Jesus also reminds us
that only the heart's good treasure produces good. In
order to remain steadfast, we must heed what Jesus tells
us. If we hear God's word, our foundation will be strong,

BAPTISM - (English) Registration begins with an
interview of the child’s parent. Parents must call office to make an appointment. Parent meeting as well as pre-baptismal class for parents and godparents is not optional. If Parent or Godparent(s) have baptized in the last 12 months from the date of intended baptism, proof must be provided (where and when class was taken); a letter or card from the parish. It is a Church requirement that at least one Godparent has the Sacrament of Confirmation. It is the expectation that Godparents are practicing Catholics.

St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemeteries and Mausoleum
We celebrate a Mass for the intention of all those who are buried or entombed in our cemetery. This Mass is celebrated at the mausoleum in Our Lady of Good Counsel Chapel located on the cemetery grounds. The 2019 Mass Schedule is as follows:
