În anul 1918, o serie de

    evenimete legate de Primul Răz-

    boi Mondial (1914-1918) au

    permis tuturor provinciilor

    româneşti, care atunci nu făceau

    parte din Regatul României să

    se unească cu Ţara (“mama”).

    Românii americani au sprijinit

    cu entuziasm chemarea la arme

    lansată de preşedintele Wood-

    row Wilson şi au sprijinit

    formarea unui regiment de vol-

    untari Români Americani. Aces-

ta a luptat în Franţa pentru

    eliberarea Transilvaniei, Buco-

    vinei, Banatului, Crişanei si

    Maramureşului. În 1918,

    Românii Americani originari din

    acele ţinuturi au rupt legătura

    cu Biserica de acasă controlată

    de imperiul Austro-Ungar şi s-

au unit cu Biserica din Romania.

    Aceste evenimente, corobo-

    rat cu rezultatul Primului Răz-

boi Mondial (la care a luat parte

    şi românii din ţinuturile ocu-

    pate, dar şi din Regetul

    României),

In December 1918, a series of

events related to the WWI Ena-

    bled the Romanian provinces out-

side Romania, which was not part

of the of the Romanian Kingdom

at that time, to be United to the

    Mother country. The Romanian

    Americans supported responded to

the call to arms launched by Presi-

    dent Woodrow Wilson and sup-

    ported the establishment of the

    Romanian American volunteers

Legion, That fought in France for

    the freedom of Transylvania, Bu-

    covina, Banat, Crişana and

    Maramureş. Romanian Americans

    originating in those lands broke

away their union with the Church

    controlled by Austro-Hungarian

    Empire and declared their union

    to the Church in Romania.

    These events, together with

the results of the WWI (where Ro-

    manians from all territories par-

    ticipated) marked the beginning of

the process of union of all provinc-

es with the Kingdom of Romania,

  • au marcat începutul procesului de unire a

    tuturor provinciilor cu Regatul României,

formînd astfel – România Mare. Aşadar, la 27

Martie 1918, Basarabia a declarant unirea sa

cu patria mama, urmată de Bucovina în 28

Noiembrie 1918. Transilvania s-a unit cu

România la 1 Decembrie 1918 prin referen-

dum făcut de către Adunarea Națională a

    Românilor din Transilvania și Ungaria.

    Anul 2018

    marchează a 100-

    a aniversare a

    Unirii Transil-

    vaniei, Banatului,

    Bucovinei, Basara-

    biei, Crişana şi

    Maramureşul cu

    România. Nu doar

    românii, ci şi alte

    neamuri se aflau în

    mâna acelui Impe-

    riu. Între ei erau:

    Cehii, Slovacii, Rutenii, Polonii, Sârbii,

Croaţii, Slovenii şi Italienii. Când Imperiul

    Austro-Ungar s-a destrămat, toate aceste

“naţionalităţi” au cerut să fie recunoscute ca

    “Naţiuni”.

    La 1 Decembrie, 2018 vom avea o

mare serbare (împreună cu Biserica Sf.

Stefan, HORA & Romanian Genealogy Socie-

ty) la sala Bisericii Ortodoxe Ukrainiene din

Arden Hills. (detalii sunt in flyer). Invităm pe

toţi să participaţi si spuneţi copiilor istoria

neamului nostru. Să facem anul 2018 un an

de înfrăţire a tuturor românilor. Mai mult

chiar, vă invităm să vă reînnoiţi legătura cu

biserica şi să deveniţi activi în comunitatea

    noastră,

    formatting the “Big Romania”. On

March 27th, Basarabia declared its union,

followed by Bucovina on November 28th.

Finally, Transylvania was United to Roma-

nia, by the referendum held on December

1st 1918 by the National Assembly of Ro-

    manians from Transylvania and Hungary.

The year 2018 marks The 100th an-

niversary of the union of Transylvania,

    Bucovina, Banat,

    Basarabia,

    Crişana and

    Maramureş with

    Romania. Not only

    Romanians, but

    other nationalities

    as well were in the

    grip of that Em-

    pire. Among them

    were: Czechs, Slo-

    vaks, Ruthenians,

    Poles, Serbs, Croa-

    tians, Slovenians

    and Italians. When the Austro-Hungarian

    Empire collapsed, all these “nationalities”,

demanded their right to be recognized as

    “Nations”.

On December 1, 2018 we will have a

great celebration (together with St. Ste-

phen ROC, HORA & Romanian Genealogy

Society) at the St. Ukrainian OC Hall from

Arden Hills. (details in flyer) We invite all

to participate and tell our history to your

children. Let us make 2018 a year of frater-

nity for all Romanians. Even more, we ask

you all to renew your ties with the church

and become active in our community, as

well as our ancestors were, and let us imi-

tate their loyalty to the country of their

origin and the adoptive country, the USA.

    As we commemorate such historical

markers, let us become, once again, aware of

how necessary it is for all of us to be united

and to assume not only our history but our

own community, church, or cultural organi-

zations. Though the purpose and thrust of

the church is the salvation of all men, this

historical union was blessed by the Lord,

Who saw the suffering of all ancestors and

made possible our national unity. This was

only possible through unity of action. The

    spiritual and cultural Romanian heritage

belongs to most of us. Let us love and cher-

ish it in a visible way not only by remember-

ing, but by renewing our membership in the

church, sustaining the most precious gift

    that we received .

    Dear parishioners, friends and sup-

porters, we reached the final stage of

our parking lot project. After the city’s

approval (this month) we have to hire a

company to finalize the project. As you

see, in the picture/ layout above, we

will have an additional place where to

park our cars when we come to

    church. The “engineered design and

plan” costs us (the design, land survey ,

city permits and other functions to meet

the city code requirements) $12,200. In

    February at the General Meeting

(Synod), we decided to go forward

with this project, which will cost us

    around $65,000 total.

We need your financial help to final-
