TERM THEME: Be Happy
Dear Parents,
It is always sad to say goodbye, but as it
comes to the end of the school year we
farewell the students who are moving on
to new schools and I wish you all the best
for your future schooling.
We also farewell the following families:
I’Hoest, Ali, Armstrong, Bell, Buckley,
Burke, Fitzpatrick, Gesler, Halliburton,
Harris, Hillman, Irvine, Kemp, Marshall,
Mitchell, Pham, Sinclair.
From the staff and St Mary’s community
we thank you for your contribution to St
Mary’s throughout your time with us and
we wish you all the very best.
St Mary’s also says farewell to Mrs Elliott
and Mrs Irving. Thank you both for your
hard work and the loving care you have
given to the students.
The staff and students send our thanks
and wish you the very best of luck for
next year and hope you leave with some
great memories.
Parents’ Auxiliary. We have received a
cheque of $18,000 from the Parent’s
Auxiliary this year. This money will be put
towards a new running track, shade sails
and library resources. We are hoping the
new running track will be ready by the
start of 2018.
Rotary Award. Lachlan Armstrong was
nominated to receive the Rotary Club School
Encouragement Award for 2017. Lachlan
upholds the values and attitudes which our
school want to see in our

ST MARY’S GIVING TREE.
It is wonderful to see so many gifts under our giving tree. Thank you to those who have
brought in a gift. I'm sure it will bring someone a little extra joy and happiness this Christmas.
If you still wish to bring in an unwrapped gift and place it under the school tree, you are more
than welcome.
All gifts will be taken down to a Kmart Wishing Tree and through Kmart and the Salvation
Army, be given to someone who is in need of a little extra Christmas spirit this year.
CHRISTMAS RAFFLE.
The raffle tub is filling up nicely and tickets are rolling in. Multiple prizes will be put together
and winners will be drawn at the end of year concert on Tuesday 19th December.
Please consider donating (if you haven't yet) a small Christmas gift or hamper item to the
school office. This could be Christmas biscuits, serviettes, Christmas cakes or puddings,
candles, chocolate treats, small trinkets, Christmas decorations etc.
Tickets are $2 each with families receiving 5 tickets to purchase and or sell. If you wish to
purchase more tickets please see the office.
SECOND HAND UNIFORM STALL 2018. There will be second hand uniform stall on the first Friday of Term 1 - February 3rd: 8:30am- 9:15am and 3:00pm - 3:30pm LOST PROPERTY. Lost property is over flowing. Please check and take home any items that belong to you. All items left, named or not named, will be put in the secondhand uniform stall at the commencement of next year.
STUDENT KK: Classrooms are participating in the Christmas tradition of KK’s. This is a tradition where you pick or are given a name of someone in your class, and for the weeks leading up to Christmas, you do extra nice things for that person. You may choose to write a nice note or card to you KK telling them what a lovely friend they have been or what qualities you like about them. You may choose to bring in a Christmas sticker or badge for you KK.
During the last few days of school, students will gather in their classes and present their KK with a small gift costing no more than $5. We do encourage students to get creative and make a gift.
Look out for notes sent home from your teachers with more details as to when each class will be presenting and exchanging gifts.
