Girl’s Skirt PreK-8th Clear Blue Plaid or Solid Navy

Skirts/Skorts must be no shorter than three inches above the natural crease on the back of the knee. Solid navy or white, full length, leggings may be worn under skirts but they must match the color of socks and be full length (no leg can be showing.)

Shirts PreK-8th White (plain, no logos)

PreK-8th Navy ONLY Crew neck plain or school logo sweatshirt, available in office, may be worn over a uniform collared shirt. (Non-uniform sweatshirts, jackets, and outwear may not be worn in the building).

Sweater PreK-8th Navy ONLY (plain, no logos)

Vest, long sleeve pull-over, short sleeve or button up cardigans and sweaters are allowed. NO HOODS, NO CONTRASTING TRIM

Socks/Tights/ Leggings PreK-8th Navy or White ONLY

Socks (white, blue, or black only) or footed tights (white or navy only) must be worn and must be visible above the shoe. Short ankle socks acceptable. Solid navy or white, full length, leggings may be worn under skirts but they must match the color of socks and be full length (no leg can be showing.)

Shoes NO BOOTS

NO SANDALS

PreK-8th Closed heel and toe

Must be non-distracting, have closed toes and heels, and be safe to run and play in. Plain tennis shoes or oxford type shoes are best. (Rain or snow boots only when appropriate as deemed by the school.) NO EMBELLISHMENTS, NO HIGH HEELS, NO BOOTS, NO LIGHTS, NO GLITTER/SPARKLES

Jewelry PreK-8th Religious Small stud earrings (one pair) may be worn. NO dangling earrings, religious necklace and medals only, NO Rings for safety reasons, one small bracelet or watch.

Hair Accessories PreK-8th Navy, White or School Plaid

Plain navy, white, or school plaid scrunchies or headbands, plain barrettes. NO COLORED, FLOWERED, SEQUINED, OR DISTRACTING HAIR ORNAMENTS.

Hair /Makeup/Scents PreK-8th Natural Hair No Makeup No Scents

Hair must be clean, neat, non-distracting, out of the eyes, and the student’s natural color. Students will remove makeup and nail polish. NO perfume, body spray, scented lotions due to allergies.

St. Mary School Uniform Code/Guidelines

At St. Mary school we wear uniforms because they: !Promote our Catholic School identity. !Promote a feeling of equality for all children. !Promote an image of pride both in and away from school. !Help create a positive learning environment. !Help foster personal responsibility and discipline. !Are financially less costly and easier to maintain. While parents and students both share in the responsibility for knowing and following the dress code, parents/ guardians must ensure their students appropriately observe and maintain these expectations. Students are to arrive at school in the proper school uniform. If a student is in violation of the dress code that is not readily correctable, parents will be contacted and asked to correct the situation. All clothing is expected to fit (modestly), be clean and in good repair. The St. Mary uniform is to be worn on all school days, except those designated as Free Dress or Spirit Dress. Coats/Hats Send a coat to school daily with your student. We are outside in all types of weather and it may be needed in an emergency. Hats can be worn outside only.

Free Dress (Last Friday of the month)

Spirit Dress

Free Dress-Students may wear relaxed modest, non-distracting clothing of their choice. Hair, makeup and jewelry follow normal code. No high heels, short skirts or shorts, sheer tops, tank tops, or clothing with rips, holes, tears, inappropriate prints or logos. Spirit Dress-On designated days, students may wear their St. Mary School t-shirts or sweatshirts, or school “families” shirt. Students may also wear blue denim pants/shorts/skirts, or regular uniform bottoms ONLY. Students should NOT be in Free Dress on these days unless they have a Free Dress coupon.

Mass Uniform One way we can show God respect and reverence is by dressing our best while attending Mass. Students are asked to wear their normal uniform shirt and pants or a skirt/jumper but to also wear a navy blue cardigan/sweater or St. Mary School CREW neck sweatshirt. A sweater, sweatshirt, or cardigan must be worn unless permission is granted by the principal/teacher. No hooded sweatshirts please.

8th Grade Uniform 8th graders are allowed to wear a special sweatshirt/t-shirt with uniform bottoms, each day excluding days when Mass uniforms are required. The special sweatshirt/t-shirt will be designed in class with their art teacher. This is optional.
