M ERRY C HRISTMAS
I want to wish everyone a very Merry & Joyous Christmas. It is the eve of Christmas. But, since it is so close we can tell everyone “Merry Christmas”
The church history tells us that Jesus was born two thousand years ago. It was such a great event
for the whole human race that we celebrate that birthday as though is it was happening today. In the place of the angels singing on that first day of His birth, as the church, we are the angels singing the same songs of happiness and joy. Because, Jesus continues to do what He did on that actual day of His birth; bringing joy and salvation to humanity. We just do not see Him as the angels did. They must have been sur-prised to see so few human beings rejoicing and celebrating the actual birth of One who came to save all of humanity.
In a human way of thinking, Jesus must have been surprised that so few people witnessed His birthday. God had spoken to mankind many times through the prophets that the Messiah was going to come to redeem the human race. As a human being, Jesus must have felt the same way the angels felt, (disappointed) that so few people were there to join in the celebration.
But today, there is no excuse for the small number of people who will really join the celebration of His birth, and redemption (that ) has been made available to every human being. We have to make up for that big number of people who do not join in the celebration of His birth. We must do it by making sure that we not only do our share of celebrating, but that we make up for those not celebrating by ensuring we do it with a lot of faith and love. Jesus will accept our efforts to do that.
