A Message From Our Pastor

Dear People of St. Patrick Parish, Who is this God they are speaking about in the First Reading today, from the Book of Wisdom, one of the books of the Bible?

♦ There is no God besides you who have the care of all. Yes, even us.

♦ But though you are master of might, you judge with clemency, and with much lenience you govern us. Yes, God! how many times you have forgave me and shown leniency.

♦ That you would permit repentance for their sins You don’t have to, but you do.

Who is this God that St. Paul wrote about to the Romans?

“The spirit comes to the aid of our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the spirit himself intercedes with inexpressible groaning's.”

Yes, this God gives us a great insurance policy that even covers us when we forget him. Jesus tells us in the Gospel that yes, we will live next to people who do not believe, who chose to sin, who put their faith in doing anything they want to do. Yes, God will not cut them down for the sake of those who are living a just and holy life. He will hope and pray they change, repent and fly right before they die. Until they actually die, they can change and be forgiven and yes, make it to heaven. For those who chose sin and do not repent, he says all those who cause others to sin and all evil-doers, can expect to be thrown into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth. I don’t think I want to go there. But, for the righteous, they will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Yes, now that reminds me of the beautiful beaches and wonderful sounds of water to swim and surf in. Yes, it does sound like God’s country. This is a God I can love, trust, hope in, and know that I am loved. This is what we Catholics be-lieve about God. Let’s work to get to that image of God.

God Bless, Fr. Larry Young, Pastor

Your St. Patrick Parish had a great annual Parish Picnic last week and God answered our prayers with good

Weather and good free food and drink. Yes, the food and drink was provided by the different organizations and groups. Yes, we are a parish family. Grateful thanks to the Parish Hospitality committee for making it happen. Thank you to our Vacation Bible Camp staff and students, great job!

Please read the letter on the back page of the parish bulletin from the California Bishop’s about the current migrant

issue in our country. I would hope that all Christians would follow Jesus and His teachings on such matters, he was very clear.

At the present time, the parish is putting together the parish team for the Reclaiming Christ’s Mission Together cam-

paign for the Diocese of Oakland. It will take many hands to help make this project a success. If you are interested in joining the team, please call the parish office and let us know. We should all be praying for the success of this major undertaking.

Like to eat, dance, meet people, relax and enjoy good healthy fun? Then, you need to be at the San Lorenzo Ruiz
