St. Paul Church ~ A United Methodist Community where Its all about Gods love! The Messenger July 2017 From the Pastor- We have just completed a wonderful and excing week of Vacaon Bible School here at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Our program, entled Maker Fun Factory”, had approximately forty-five children from our congregaon, SPUMPS families, and the community. This number does not include around twenty or more of our youth who served as crew leaders, guides, staon leaders, and otherwise servant leaders to our children. We also had a huge number of adults who volunteered their me to make this week a success. To name everyone who helped decorate or lead or serve, either up front or behind the scenes, would be impossible for me-but please know I am eternally grateful to each of these persons for their dedicaon and faithful service in this missional/evangelical/teaching program successfully offered by our church family. While it is impossible for me to name everyone, I would like to especially thank the Kanny family-Tiffany, Sco, Taylor, Leea, and Walker for all of their leadership, me and commitment to serve Jesus this week at Maker Fun Factory even as they are transioning to their next duty staon! You all will be sorely missed, but not forgoen by your church family here at St. Paul United Methodist Church and not only because of your dedicaon to VBS. God bless you all as you re-sele in Florida. I know your next church family will be as blessed as we have been by your presence here with us! In case you missed it, I thought I would summarize what our children learned this week: Day One we met Decker the Decorator Crab who helped us remember God Made You!. The key Bible verse was Thank you for making me so wonderfully Complex!(Psalm 139:14). The Bible story came from Psalm 139 and Genisis 1:26-2:4. Day Two we met Tina Termite who helped us remember God is for you!Our key Bible verse was If God is for you, who can ever be against us?(Romans 8:31). Our Bible story was Rahabs faith in Gods mighty power. (Joshua 1 & 2) Day Three we met Bubba the Whale who helped us remember God is always with you!Our key Bible verse was The Lord your God is with you wherever you go.(Joshua 1:9). We experienced the story of Gideon in Judges 6:11-7:25. Day Four we met Skyler the Bower Bird who helped us remember God will always love you.Our key verse for this day was Your unfailing love will last forever. The Bible story we learned about was how Jesus dies and comes back to life because of Gods unfailing love for us even though we are not perfect. Jesus save us by making our forgiveness possible. (Luke 22:66-24:12) Day Five we met Abbee the Bee who helped us remember God made you for a reason. Our key verse this day was For I know the plans I have for you.(Jeremiah 29:11) Our Bible story was about Abigail who brings peace (1 Samuel 25). Even when we see no way, God has a way for each of us, a plan for our lives! As you can see, we had a great me and learned a lot. This VBS program was made possible by your generosity which provided a facility and a family atmosphere, as well as financial support from our general budget. Thank you all, parcipants, congregaon, and especially God for a great Vacaon Bible School! As I write this note, I am preparing to go to a senior high school camp at West River as a counselor June 25-July 1, then to Camp Joy with our youth and mulple adults to do mission work and home repairs in Appalachia July 9-15. I will be here on Sunday mornings, but my more normal schedule will resume aſter July 16 th . God bless you all! Pastor Walter

“It’s all about God’s love!”

The Messenger July 2017

From the Pastor-

We have just completed a wonderful and exciting week of Vacation Bible School here at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Our

program, entitled “Maker Fun Factory”, had approximately forty-five children from our congregation, SPUMPS families, and the

community. This number does not include around twenty or more of our youth who served as crew leaders, guides, station leaders, and

otherwise servant leaders to our children. We also had a huge number of adults who volunteered their time to make this week a success.

To name everyone who helped decorate or lead or serve, either up front or behind the scenes, would be impossible for me-but please

know I am eternally grateful to each of these persons for their dedication and faithful service in this missional/evangelical/teaching

program successfully offered by our church family.

While it is impossible for me to name everyone, I would like to especially thank the Kanny family-Tiffany, Scott, Taylor, Leea, and

Walker for all of their leadership, time and commitment to serve Jesus this week at Maker Fun Factory even as they are transitioning to

their next duty station! You all will be sorely missed, but not forgotten by your church family here at St. Paul United Methodist Church and

not only because of your dedication to VBS. God bless you all as you re-settle in Florida. I know your next church family will be as blessed

as we have been by your presence here with us!

In case you missed it, I thought I would summarize what our children learned this week:

Day One we met Decker the Decorator Crab who helped us remember “God Made You!”. The key Bible verse was “Thank you for making

me so wonderfully Complex!” (Psalm 139:14). The Bible story came from Psalm 139 and Genisis 1:26-2:4.

Day Two we met Tina Termite who helped us remember “God is for you!” Our key Bible verse was “If God is for you, who can ever be

against us?” (Romans 8:31). Our Bible story was Rahabs faith in God’s mighty power. (Joshua 1 & 2)

Day Three we met Bubba the Whale who helped us remember “God is always with you!” Our key Bible verse was “The Lord your God is

with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9). We experienced the story of Gideon in Judges 6:11-7:25.

Day Four we met Skyler the Bower Bird who helped us remember “God will always love you.” Our key verse for this day was “Your

unfailing love will last forever.” The Bible story we learned about was how Jesus dies and comes back to life because of God’s unfailing

love for us even though we are not perfect. Jesus save us by making our forgiveness possible. (Luke 22:66-24:12)

Day Five we met Abbee the Bee who helped us remember “God made you for a reason.” Our key verse this day was “For I know the

plans I have for you.” (Jeremiah 29:11) Our Bible story was about Abigail who brings peace (1 Samuel 25). Even when we see no way, God

has a way for each of us, a plan for our lives!

As you can see, we had a great time and learned a lot. This VBS program was made possible by your generosity which provided a facility

and a family atmosphere, as well as financial support from our general budget. Thank you all, participants, congregation, and especially

God for a great Vacation Bible School!

As I write this note, I am preparing to go to a senior high school camp at West River as a counselor June 25-July 1, then to Camp Joy with

our youth and multiple adults to do mission work and home repairs in Appalachia July 9-15. I will be here on Sunday mornings, but my

more normal schedule will resume after July 16th.

God bless you all!

Pastor Walter
