Find the Missal (Ordinary of the Mass) at 150 in Oramos Cantando/We Pray in Song

First Reading IS 50:4-7

The Lord GOD has given me a well-trained tongue, that I might know how to speak to the weary a word that will rouse them.

Morning after morning he opens my ear that I may hear; and I have not rebelled, have not turned back. I gave my back to those

who beat me, my cheeks to those who plucked my beard; my face I did not shield from buffets and spitting. The Lord GOD is my

help, therefore I am not disgraced; I have set my face like flint, knowing that I shall not be put to shame.

Responsorial Psalm Ps 22 R. My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?

Second Reading 2 Phil 2:6-11 Christ Jesus, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped. Rather, he emptied

himself, taking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness; and found human in appearance, he humbled himself, becoming

obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name

which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

El Misal (Ordinario de la Misa) esta en Oramos Cantando/We Pray in Song a Partir de 150

Primera Lectura Is 50, 4-7

“El Señor me ha dado una lengua experta, para que pueda confortar al abatido con palabras de aliento. Mañana tras mañana, el

Señor despierta mi oído, para que escuche yo, como discípulo. El Señor Dios me ha hecho oír sus palabras y yo no he opuesto

resistencia ni me he echado para atrás. Ofrecí la espalda a los que me golpeaban, la mejilla a los que me tiraban de la barba. No

aparté mi rostro de los insultos y salivazos. Pero el Señor me ayuda, por eso no quedaré confundido, por eso endurecí mi rostro

como roca y sé que no quedaré avergonzado”.

Salmo Responsorial Salmo 21 R. Dios mío, Dios mío, ¿por qué me has abandonado?

Segunda lectura Flp 2, 6-11

VIRTUS—It is once again time to do the annual Archdiocesan Compliance Report. This year there will be a

national-level audit to see who is not in compliance with the Virtus requirements. The leaders of ministries will

be receiving a list of volunteers to add new volunteers or delete those who are no longer active. If you have new

members who have not yet attended, please be sure that they are scheduled to attend the 1st workshop—

Protecting God’s Children, as soon as possible. If you have members who attended PGC five years ago, they

should now register to attend the 2nd workshop, Keeping the Promise Alive.

We have no workshops scheduled at St. Pius at this time so you will need to go to www.virtus.org and see where

they are available. If you are registering for the first workshop, Protecting Gods Children, be sure to write down

and save your username and password because you will need it again when you are required to attend Keeping

the Promise Alive. IF you are registering for the 2nd workshop and do not remember your username and

password, call me at the church office or email me at [email protected] and I can email your

information to you. Please keep the General information of your Virtus account updated and check to see if you

have bulletins to read.

Palm Sunday

St. Pius V Catholic Church March 20, 2016

Palm Sunday

Dear friends,

Traditionally we have a packed church on Palm Sunday. We want everyone who comes today to know that they are

welcome. If you are a long-time parishioner, look around and say hello to a stranger. If you are a visitor, Welcome! It is a

joy to have you with us and we hope that you will return often to pray with us and give glory to God.

If you had a chance to look at the Financial Report in the bulletin last week, you’ll have seen how important our Spring

Festival is to the financial health of the parish. Please support our Festival fund-raisers and of our Raffle. Last weekend,

the Chicken Dinner sale was a great success and I was with a team of Festival Committee members at St. Jerome’s in

Spring Branch. Our brothers and sisters there, and at the other parishes we have visited, were very supportive of our Raffle,

but we need your help most of all. Please take a packet of Raffle tickets, buy them yourselves, sell them to friends and

relatives, and return them (in the original envelope) in one of the collections.

Our Rice Bowl Project in support of Catholic Relief Services is coming to an end. We hope you have been saving your

change during Lent so as to feed the hungry and help the needy throughout the world. There is a basket in the Sanctuary

where you can return your Rice Bowl boxes. PLEASE DO NOT PUT RICE BOWL OFFERINGS IN THE REGULAR

COLLECTION.

May the Lord draw you closer to Himself in this Holy Week through the Mystery of His Passion, Death, and Resurrection.

Fr. Joe

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Queridos amigos,
Usualmente tenemos una iglesia llena de gente el Domingo de Ramos. Queremos que todos los que vienen hoy saben que
son bienvenidos. Si usted es parroquiano desde hace mucho tiempo, mire alrededor y salude a un desconocido. Si usted es
visitante, Bienvenido! Es una alegría tenerlo con nosotros y esperamos que va a regresar a menudo para orar con nosotros y
dar gloria a Dios.
Si usted tuvo la oportunidad de ver el informe financiero en el boletín de la semana pasada, ha visto la importancia de
nuestro Festival de Primavera y su aportación financiera a la parroquia. Por favor apoye a nuestros recaudadores de fondos
para el Festival y apoye a nuestra rifa. La semana pasada, la venta de pollo fue un gran éxito y yo estaba con un grupo de
miembros del Comité del Festival en San Jeronimo en Spring Branch. Nuestros hermanos y hermanas de allí, y de las otras
parroquias que hemos visitado, dieron mucho apoyo a nuestra rifa, pero necesitamos su ayuda más que nada. Por favor,
tome un paquete de boletos de la rifa, cómprelos, véndalos a sus amigos y parientes, y devuélvalos (en el sobre original) en
una de las colectas.
Nuestro proyecto “Plato de Arroz” en apoyo de Los Servicios Católicos de Socorro está llegando a su fin. Esperamos que
haya sido el ahorro de su moneda durante la Cuaresma para alimentar a los que tienen hambre y ayudar a los necesitados en
todo el mundo. Hay una canasta en el santuario donde se puede devolver sus cajas “Plato de Arroz.” POR FAVOR NO
PONGALOS EN LA COLECTA.
Que el Señor te acerque más a sí mismo en esta Semana Santa a través del misterio de su pasión, muerte y resurrección.
P. Joe
