A MESSAGE FROM FATHER PAT Dear St. Pius X Community, We are celebra ng Trinity Sunday this weekend. One God and three dis nct ways that we can relate to our God. Another way to look at this is Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer. There is no way that we will ever grasp this in any part of its en rety. It is a fundamental mystery of our faith; one that should cause us ques ons and draw us deeper into the reality of our God. Created, male and female, not just in the likeness, but the image of our God. To be holy and blameless in God’s sight. (Eph 1:4) At different mes of my life, I have related differently to the different aspects of a God in three persons. When struggling with my dad, I would look toward the Spirit or Jesus. When not feeling the presence of God, I have looked to all three and just prayed, “Help me to see or feel Your presence at some point today.” Confirma on is behind us and we are star ng summer. We have a packed schedule. We have a few slots for the Steubenville Lone Star in June. All teens really deserve this experience. It is simply amazing. It is a very Catholic immersion in our faith with talks and prayers that touch each person in a profound way. If money is an issue, I will find a scholarship! Summer Fun is filling up. What a great way to keep your kids ac ve, entertained and mee ng new friends. You can’t beat $165 a week. More informa on can be found on the school website. I also have plenty of service hours available for those that need and/or want them. Just let me know and we can find something for you. We had a few teens get over 300 hours last summer. MyParishApp: We already have doubled the people that we had on Flock Note. AMAZING! That said, we need many more of you. The Franciscans came here 300 years ago to bring the faith to the na ve people. They were fulfilling the mandate to “go therefore and make disciples of all na ons.” This is the first feature length drama c film on the life of St. Anthony of Padua, one of the most popular saints in Chris an history, and one who is even revered by Muslim and Hindu communi es. It is in Italian with English sub tles and is 95 minutes in length. The film is not rated but recommended for teens to adults. The showing is being hosted by the WSPX Spirituality Commi ee. Desserts, coffee and water will be served.

“Preparing Men and Women for Ministry in the Church and Society” + + +
The Lay Ministry Ins tute (LMI) & Ins tuto de Formación Pastoral/Pastoral Forma on Ins tute (IFP/PFI) are currently accep ng applica ons for the 2018 - 2019 lay ministry forma on programs. Both the LMI & IFP/PFI are two-year cer ficate programs.
The IFP/PFI is a basic adult faith forma on program, offered in English or Spanish that affords the student an ini al introduc on to theological studies and personal leadership development for use in a pastoral se ng. This is a two year Cer ficate course of study. Year 1 classes will be hosted at San Juan de los Lagos Parish and at St. Jude Parish.
The LMI is an intermediate level prepara on program that builds on the student’s founda onal theological knowledge and personal spiritual forma on. During this two year course of study, par cipants will also be discerning the call to ministry and guided through a prac cum experience. All classes will be held on the OST Main Campus.
