World Marriage Day

Today we celebrate World Marriage Day! Please pray for the married couples and those in marriage preparation from our parish. God bless all men and women who said YES to the vocation of marriage!

0 Jesus, lover of the young, the dearest Friend I have, in all confidence I open my heart to You to beg Your light and assistance in the important task of planning my future. Give me the light of Your grace, that I may decide wisely concerning the person who is to be my partner through life. Dearest Jesus, send me such a one whom in Your divine wisdom You judge best suited to be united with me in marriage. May her/his character reflect some of the traits of Your own Sacred Heart. May s/he be upright, loyal, pure, sincere and noble, so that with united efforts and with pure and unselfish love we both may strive to perfect ourselves in soul and body, as well as the children it may please You to entrust to our care. Bless our friendship before marriage, that sin may have no part in it. May our mutual love bind us so closely, that our future home may ever be most like Your own at Nazareth. 0 Mary Immaculate, sweet Mother of the young, to your special care I entrust the decision I am to make as to my future wife/husband. You are my guiding Star! Direct me to the person with whom I can best cooperate in doing God's Holy Will, with whom I can live in peace, love and harmony in this life, and attain to eternal joys in the next. AMEN.

Thank you for your continued support of our ministries to the people of God.

Prayerfully consider giving a gift to St. Pius X Parish in your Estate Planning or Planned Giving.

I have extended an invitation to Rev. Richard Bayuk CPPS to come to our parish on the weekend of February 18- 19, 2017. Father Bayuk will be with us to celebrate Masses and tell us about the work of Unbound (previously known as CFCA). He will speak to you about how this ministry provides a trustworthy way to actively participate in the social outreach of the Catholic Church and answer the Gospel call to serve the poor. Founded by lay Catholics, Unbound is an organization that has served more than 600,000 children, youth and elderly in 20 developing countries since 1981 - empowering them to make more choices in their lives, live with dignity and reach their potential. To learn more, call 800-875-6564 or visit Unbound online at www.unbound.org. Unbound's unique sponsorship program is highly personalized. It matches a child, youth or aging person at a project overseas with a sponsor in the U.S. who cares about and encourages that person. With a monthly contribution, a sponsor helps to provide much-needed nourishing food, medical and dental care, the chance for a child to go to school, livelihood programs for families and much more. All of these efforts are directed at affirming the dignity of every person in their local community. Please join me in welcoming Father Bayuk to our parish. Sincerely yours in Jesus Christ,

Rev. George Zieba C.R. Pastor

COMMUNITY NEWS

The SERRA CLUB OF DUPAGE, a national organization supporting vocations to the priesthood and religious life, invites you to join them on Monday, February 20, 2017, at St Michael Parish, The evening will begin at 6:00 pm with Rosary and Mass in the Church. Dinner will follow in the Parish Center. At the dinner, guest speaker, Father Michael Lane, pastor of the Church of St. Jude in Joliet, will give a presentation on Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration. Fr. Michael Lane was born in Lockport, IL and attended St. Joseph Church with his parents John and Irene. He was ordained November 9, 1974 by Bishop Romeo Blanchette. Fr. Lane taught at Providence Catholic High School and was assigned to St. Paul the Apostle, Joliet immediately following ordination. He served as an Associate Pastor (Parochial Vicar) in numerous parishes including St. Alexis, Bensenville, St. Dominic, Bolingbrook, Ss. Peter and Paul, Naperville, and St. Raymond Cathedral. He was named Pastor of St. Dominic, Bolingbrook in 1989 and Visitation, Elmhurst in 1995. Almost immediately upon arrival at Visitation, Fr. Lane focused on updating and maintaining the church and school’s aging

facilities. During his tenure, he established the Perpetual Adoration Chapel of our Lady, Mother of the Eucharist. Today the chapel draws people from throughout the area who seek to be in Christ’s presence through the Blessed Sacrament. Fr. Lane is currently Pastor of St. Jude, Joliet since his appointment in 2004 where he has also established a Perpetual Adoration Chapel with active visitation.
