Catholic Schools Week From Our Principal, Mr. Zafra Dear St. Pius X Families, We are now in our 2nd week of Advent. As we eagerly await the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, it is easy to get lost in the commercialization of the holidays amidst the letters to Santa, holiday music, as well as all of the Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel. Please continue to remind your children the true beauty and reason of this season. A huge thank you to Sister Rita, all of our teachers and staff and our students for putting on this year’s Carol Night program last night. Everyone did an amazing job! Thank you and congratulations to our 8th grade students for their leadership and participation in their final Carol Night program at St. Pius X. Carol Night truly does ring in the Christmas season here at St. Pius X. Thank you Mrs. Williams and Mr. Spratt for making our first Cocoa and Cookies after Carol Night a success! Don’t forget our Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 18. Come support our chorus and band students! If your family did not pick up your St. Pius X Catholic School ornament, please stop by the front office. We hope you enjoy them! Don’t forget to donate to our Winter Warmth Drive. To help those in need this Christmas season, 7th grader Sean Shewell has begun a service project at St. Pius X through his Boy Scout troop to collect Socks, Scarves and Winter Hats. Drop off these items in the school office and Sean will make sure they are delivered to the right organization. We welcomed two new families to the St. Pius X Catholic School community this month - The Lee family and The Sickles family! Welcome to Declan Lee in PreK-4 and welcome to Adyson Sickles in PreK-3! We are so happy to have you in our community! Our Daddy-Daughter Dance is scheduled for Saturday, February 2, 2019. Dads, Grandfathers, Uncles, and Godfathers are welcome to bring their princess or princesses to this new event! More information to follow. Moms interested in planning, decorating, etc. for the dance please contact the school office at 757-588-6171 to sign up. To all of our families, I wanted to extend a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to your family! Again, thank you for being a part of our St. Pius X community. Enjoy the Christmas break and we look forward to a blessed 2019. God bless, Mark Zafra from St. Pius X School Faculty and Staff
