Dear Friends,

Happy Father’s Day to all of our dads! Father’s Day is always special, but it takes on deeper significance during this Year of St. Joseph, foster father of Our Lord. There is no be er model of fatherhood than St. Joseph, who gave himself completely in love and service to Mary and Jesus. We ask St. Joseph to pray for all of our fathers that the Lord will bless them in a special way on this Father’s Day weekend.

I’d ask you to please pray for Fr. Ray as he will be star ng his radia on treatments for prostate cancer at the end of this month. The good news is that his doctor is very op mis c that the treatments will resolve this issue.

Pray for our young people who will be a ending the youth conference next weekend at the Franciscan University of Steubenville. I, along with Fr. Capoverdi, Nathan Ledoux, and a few adult chaperones, will also be with them.

As you know, we have Wednesday evening confessions from 5:00‐5:30. During that me, we also pray the Rosary and Divine Mercy chaplet before the exposed Blessed Sacrament. Recently, I decided to add novena prayers to St. Joseph since this is the Year of St. Joseph and Wednesday is tradi onally the day of the week that is dedicated to him. Each Wednesday evening, then, will now be an ongoing St. Joseph novena. I encourage you to come and pray, even if you don’t plan to go to confession that evening.

Speaking of novenas, just a reminder that the St. Jude novena is every Monday evening at 6:00.

By now, you received my le er asking you to consider contribu ng to the annual collec on ($150 per family or whatever you can afford). As I stated in my le er, the funds will go towards redoing our back parking lot stairs and walkway. I hope we can accomplish this project before the end of the year.

If money wasn’t an obstacle and we could do whatever projects we desired, I would for sure do the following: 1) repave our upper church parking lot, 2) renovate and beau fy our church ves bule, and 3) renovate and beau fy our church hall. Someday I’d like to look back and be able to say that we accomplished all three…

I’m very grateful to the Knights of Columbus for the $3000 they raised to defray the cost of the youth conference. The Knights are truly faithful and dedicated men of God. I encourage the men of our parish to consider joining the Knights.

The word is that the Patriots rookie quarterback, Mac Jones, is actually lagging in performance behind Newton, Hoyer, and S dham in early prac ces. It’s s ll too early to tell who will be the starter.

I keep asking Fr. Ray about his thoughts on the Aaron Rodgers saga. Will Rodgers stay in Green Bay or will he go? Fr. Ray isn’t sure what will happen, and so he usually asks my dog, Summer, what her thoughts are. Her response? She just kneels in front of him and nudges his hand with her nose, signaling that she wants him to pet her. Clearly, Summer is not focused on football.

PRAYER OF CONSECRATION TO ST. JOSEPH O Glorious Patriarch and Patron of the Church! O Virgin

Spouse of the Virgin Mother of God! O Guardian and Virginal Father of the Word Incarnate! In the presence of Jesus and

Mary, I choose you this day to be my father, my guardian, and my protector.

O great St. Joseph, whom God has made the Head of the Holy Family, accept me, I beseech you, though utterly unworthy, to

be a member of your “Holy House.” Present me to your Immaculate Spouse; ask her also to adopt me as her child. With

her, pray that I may constantly think of Jesus, and serve him faithfully to the end of my life. O Terror of Demons, increase in

me virtue, protect me from the evil one, and help me not to offend God in any way.

O my Spiritual Father, I hereby consecrate myself to you. In faithful imitation of Jesus and Mary, I place myself and all my concerns under your care and protection. To you, after Jesus

and Mary, I consecrate my body and soul, with all their faculties, my spiritual growth, my home, and all my affairs and

undertakings.

Forsake me not, but adopt me as a servant and child of the Holy Family. Watch over me at all times, but especially at the

hour of my death. Console and strengthen me with the presence of Jesus and Mary so that, with you, I may praise and adore the

Holy Trinity for all eternity. Amen.

HAPPY AND BLESSED FATHER’S DAY

Prayer Before Adoration, Invoking

St. Joseph

Dear Jesus, we believe that You are here, truly present in the

Blessed Sacrament: that You see us, that You hear us. We adore You with profound reverence.

We beg pardon for our sins and the grace to make this time of

prayer fruitful. Our Immaculate Mother, St. Joseph our

Patron, our guardian angels, our patron saints, intercede for us during this time of prayer and adoration. We ask this through

Christ, our Lord. Amen.

June is the Month of the Sacred Heart REPARATION

Acts of reparation unite us to the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ and make us co-workers in the Church’s mission of healing and

forgiving. Any member of the faithful can do acts of reparation for their own sins or for the sins of others. An act of reparation might

be a prayer or a penance done for someone’s conversion, some physical pain you might experience offered in union with the

Sacred Heart of Jesus, or giving some money or doing another work of mercy for someone in need.

Mother Mary and the saints did many acts of reparation. Praying the holy rosary daily is an excellent act of reparation. It is a

powerful way for the mercy of God won by Jesus’ sacrifice to be manifested in our own lives. St. Rose of Lima once said of

reparation, “If only (people) would learn how great (reparation) is … Without a doubt, they would devote themselves to winning pains and afflictions. All men throughout the world would seek

trouble, infirmities and torments, instead of good fortune. No one would complain about his cross or about troubles that may happen

to him.”
