Welcome new members and visitors to St

Pius X Parish. We hope you feel welcome and will participate in

the many activities here whether you are a regular parishioner,

a seasonal resident or just visiting. For families with babies, two

quieting rooms are available in the nave of the church, toward

the back. Large windows allow mothers or fathers to continue to

see and participate in Mass, as you sooth the baby by rocking.

Childcare is located in the St. Paul Room and is available to

babies and young children, at the 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and

5:00 p.m. Sunday Masses. For children 4 to 6 years old, Chil-

dren’s Church is available beginning this Sunday, October 29, at

the 9:00 a.m. Mass. Children’s Church allows children to hear

the Word of God in a way that their hearts can understand, so

that they too can grow in their faith.

Please ask a greeter for help in locating these areas, as well as

restrooms, water fountains, or other areas of interest in our

church. We are so glad you have come!

A Note from the Music Director

“I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being.” Psalm 104:33

All Souls List Open In our Worship Offering envelopes there is an envelope which is marked All Souls Day. List the names of those you want re-membered on the back of the envelope and include an offering if possible. Names can also be added by coming into the Parish Office. All the names are compiled in the All Souls List. Every Wednesday during the year the 6:20 a.m. Mass is offered for all the deceased on that list.

News and Upcoming Events Position Opened at St. Pius St. Pius will be discontinuing the position of receptionist and replacing it with the position of Assistant to the Secretary and Scheduling of Liturgical Ministers. I, Fr. Steve, thank all those who have been in the position of receptionist, most recently Judy Hoffmann. But as the new Church is making new demands on the staff, I have had to restructure that position to better serve the needs of the parish’s growth. This is a full time position with benefits. If anyone is interested in applying for this position, please contact Debbie Hebert (232-4656) to request an application packet.

St. Pius Choir Po-boy Fundraiser Po-boys tickets will be sold after all Masses this weekend. Tickets are good for a po-boy and chips and will benefit the St. Pius choir pilgrimage to Ireland in June of 2018. Bottled water, for $1, will also be available. The fundraiser will be on Sun-day, November 5th from. 10:00AM - 1:30PM. Many thanks.

U-Haul Moving & Storage Our good neighbor, U-Haul Moving & Storage, located next door to our new church, has asked that no one block the bay doors of their building, especially during weekend Masses. Please do not park in these restricted spaces, blocking the entrances to their building. Help us be good neighbors too!

This weekend is our annual Knights of Columbus Pro-Life Baby Bot-tle Campaign. Please take a baby bottle home with you today and return it next week with a generous donation to support the pro-life efforts of the DesOrmeaux Foundation. Since 1999, the Foundation has provided much needed services to the women of Acadiana, par-ticularly those who find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy with-out the financial & emotional support they need. Your support will help the Foundation continue in its mission of assisting mothers and saving the lives of the unborn here in Acadiana.

This top portion is for your records. Living our lives as disciples begins with the renewal of our mind - a new way of thinking and change in attitude. The “Call to Prayer” phase of the 2017 Call to Discipleship series reminds us that time was created by God, for our world. Peace and serenity in life is found in the present moment when we are in the presence of God – in prayer. To help you respond to Jesus’ Call to Prayer, you may indicate which activities you intend to do below. Then keep that portion as a reminder, and submit the bottom portion as an offering and sign of your commitment.

Submit the below portion during any offertory collection or to the Parish Office (201 E. Bayou Pkwy. 70508).

I pledge my commitment to deepening my relationship with God with the above prayer activities. As a sign of my intent, I offer this prayer card, as well as the following prayer intention and request:

THE 30TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME OCTOBER 29, 2017

My Personal Rosary Rally Experience

My experience from leading a part of the ro-sary rally was so moving. Seeing a bunch of your children volunteering to lead a part in the rosary rally was so special to Mother Mary, Jesus, and myself. People just don’t realize how IMPORTANT it is to say the rosary. The rosary is such a powerful weapon, and if you look at the apparitions of Fatima, you’ll see that Our Lady of the Rosary is constantly urg-ing us to pray the rosary every day for world peace. Being a part of the Rosary Rally was huge for me because I knew that Mary was using us as her instruments to help spread the wonderful news about the rosary. We got there around 9:00 a.m. to help set up every-thing and lasted until about 10:45 a.m. The rosary rally even included a talk from Mrs. Phyllis Comeaux about the “100th Anniversary of Fatima” in Fatima, Portugal. I was over-joyed to learn about the three shepherd chil-dren in a more intimate way. We learned how they made sacrifices whenever possible for the conversion of sinners, their devotion to the rosary, and about the six apparitions they re-ceived from Our Lady of Fatima. I had never participated in a rosary rally before, so I was super excited for what was going to happen! It was incredible how many people showed up the rosary rally. It was early in the morning, and I was happy that many people dedicated their time to come say the rosary with us. Mary says that she will save the world through the Rosary and the Brown Scapular. The ro-sary isn’t just a string of beads, but the bible on a string that gives us a medication of Je-sus’ whole life. Jesus loves us to much, and all that he and his Blessed Mother ask in re-turn is for us the pray the rosary and make sacrifices for the conversion of sinners! Jesus loves each of you so dearly! Hope y’all have a Blessed Day!

On October 14, pa-rishioners joined to-gether here, at the Our Lady of Fatima Public Square Ro-sary held to pray for our Country in this historic year of the Fatima Centennial (1917-2017). Our nation is in great need of prayer and we asked God to save America through the Rosary of His Most Holy Mother. One young participant shares her story with us.
