Dear Parishioners, As we begin Advent this weekend, I urge you to commit to the six-minute daily reflection found in the Little Blue Book, distributed (in English or in Spanish) at this weekend’s Masses. It will help you maintain a spiritual focus in the hectic weeks ahead.
Also, for those interested, there are single-sheet Advent calendars at the rear of the church. They contain a single thought or action for each day of the season.
Enclosed in this bulletin is a insert sheet (bilingual: English/Spanish) on Our of Lady of Gua-dalupe, a cherished feast for our parish. Read it and learn about, or refresh your understanding of, this great tradition.
Due to the trilingual nature of our faith-community (and the corresponding multiple use of fa-cilities), we anticipate the December 12th feast here with a Mariachi Mass this coming Saturday, De-cember 8th (already a holyday honoring the Mother of Jesus). We gather at 6:30 pm for an Introduc-tion, followed by Mass in Spanish at 7:00 pm, accompanied by Fiesta Mariachi de New York.
A party in Brennan Hall, from 8 to 10 pm, follows the liturgy, with food, music, and dance presentations by Manhatitlan, our folkloric Mexican Dance group. Join us!
It’s often said that Pope Francis has a ―love affair‖ with Our Lady of Guadalupe. See one of his comments below.
If she doesn’t already, she will have a special place in your heart as well, once you pray that Mass and experience its deep spirituality.

With the latest Flu Season now upon us, "Vinnie and Vicki - The Vibrant Viruses!" is a humorous read designed to educate children on healthy habits, good practices and basic nutri-tional needs in an entertaining venue. This en-gaging tale tells of the adventures of two lively viruses as they embark on an exciting journey to an elementary school, a shopping mall, and a doctor's office! As they meet up with three of their friends (Villi, Venus and Vector) in the Doctor's Office, Vinnie and Vicki overhear Dr. Vitality in-structing his young patients how to keep viruses away - "Eat Plenty of Fruits and Vegetables, Get Enough Sleep and Rest, Drink Lots of Water, Ex-ercise Often and ALWAYS WASH YOUR HANDS!" Teach us to cherish and to care for family and friends until God calls them home. Help us never to see others as burdens.
