HELP IS NEEDED!

St. Roch Parish is responsible for sending 12-15 adults to the Food Shelf to distribute food on each of the four Thursdays of July. This is a big commitment especially in July. Please do not sign up unless you really plan to be there on that Thursday. The Food Shelf is located in the Community Center. Please arrive before 5:15 pm. Thanks so much for your help and for your continued support of the needs of the Food Shelf. Sign up sheets are available at the entrances to the church.

The Church of Saint Roch, Oxford, MA THE MOST HOLY TRINITY June 11, 2017

My dear Parishioners, The Trinity, this week’s feast, is at the very center of our faith. With the Sign of the Cross we trace the Trinity on ourselves. We bring God into our minds first. Then we bring the Trinity down into our hearts; and with our hearts filled with compassion we move the Trinity across our bodies to our shoulders and arms to better bear the burdens of our family and friends. We open each Mass invoking the Trinity. We close by calling on those same Persons. In our church this Sunday we will receive two infants into the Church through Baptism in the name of the Trinity. And into the arms of the Trinity we will be sent by the prayers of the priest who will celebrate our funeral. To me it is the most awesome expressions of the one great Mystery—that God is love; in His very nature He lives in a dynamic community of love. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. One God three Persons; this mystery baffles our minds and we would never have imagined it unless Jesus had revealed it to us. He wants us to know that we too are caught up in this same dynamo. It is most appropriate that on this feast we can give expression to our belief in this doctrine by helping to complete the Trinity Dome in what is called “America’s Catholic Church.” The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception is in the process of completing the mosaic on the interior “Trinity Dome” of the Basilica. You can see an artist’s rendering of a portion of the immense dome that is the pinnacle of a church that has taken one hundred years to complete. You can be part of making this inspirational shrine “America’s Catholic Church” as previous generations have done. Join with Catholics in the Diocese of Worcester in supporting the completion of the mosaic on the Trinity Dome. Visit worcesterdiocese.org and make a SECURE ONLINE GIFT today or send your check payable to the Diocese of Worcester with “TRINITY DOME” noted on the check to: Diocese of Worcester, 49 Elm Street, Worcester, MA 01609. Thank you for considering how you can be a part of our Diocesan response to this National Appeal.

Let us continue to love one another,

Fr. Roy

EIGHT MONTH DEVELOPING BABY

You’re entering your last month with your spiritually adopted baby. He is completely formed and has been since 8 weeks. All he is

doing now is gaining weight—and making his mother un-comfortable with his size. But she’s not worried now. In a short time, her baby will be born. She has planned to bring him home or to place him for adoption. Either way, she knows she can receive the assistance she needs from Cath-olic Social Services. Your baby’s mother appreciates the prayers you have said for her and her baby throughout the pregnancy. It hasn’t been easy, but your prayers have given her the grace to seek the help she needs.

The bottles will be collected on Father’s Day weekend.
