Bulletin Deadline: Friday 2pm (9 days prior to publication)
Dear Parishioners, Congratulations to our young ladies and gentlemen who were confirmed by Bishop Burbidge this weekend. Let us pray for these young people as they go out, inflamed by the Holy Spirit, to evangelize the world by their words and deeds. Father Jim has asked our help in trying to stock the chaplain's reading room. I would like to be able to send him a shipment of Catholic books that he can share with the sailors on board the carrier. If you would like to assist with this "project," I would ask that you make a donation by dropping an envelope marked "Father Jim" in the collection by Veteran's Day -- Sunday, November 11th. If anyone wishes to send a Christmas Card to a sailor away from home this Christmas, we will collect those in a basket at the back of the church -- also due by November 11th. Funds collected will be used to purchase particular books he has requested and postage, as well. The shipment will need to be made by mid-November in order to reach Father by Christmas. Thursday, November 1st, is All Saints Day, a Holy Day of Obligation, requiring attendance at Mass. Masses will be offered according to the following sched-ule: 10/31, Vigil at 7:30pm; 11/1, 6:15 and 8:30am, 12:15, 4:30, and 7:30pm. Friday, November 2nd, is All Souls Day; it is also First Friday. An additional Mass will be offered at 7:30pm. Those wishing to enroll deceased loved ones in the All Souls Novena may use the envelope included in the monthly packet or one of those available in the back of church. Envelopes may be dropped in the collection basket or in the drop box in back of church. I hope to see lots of trick-or-treaters at our first-ever "trunk-or treat" event this (Sunday) evening. I am also looking forward to seeing who the lucky winner of the car will be! (It's not too late to enter the drawing -- it may not be 1.6 billion dollars, but your chances of winning are a lot better!) Sincerely in Christ,
Clergy Reverend Richard M. Guest, Pastor Reverend Nicholas R. Barnes, Parochial Vicar Reverend Jordan M. Willard, Parochial Vicar Deacon Paul C. Konold

URS will be showing the movie ‘Tricked: Inside the World of Teen Sex Trafficking’ on Sunday, October 28th at the regular URS meeting time - 6 to 8pm. This is a part of the Youth Training Program established by the Diocese. While parents are the prima-ry educators and caregivers of youth,
the Diocese of Arlington enjoys the privilege of sharing in that ministry, in the world we live in today, youth too often are alone and unprepared for the dangers presented. This movie will help students understand and spot the scouting and manipulating tech-niques that are commonly used by traffickers. Using testimony from sur-vivors of sex trafficking, as well as in-sider information from a former traf-ficker, we talk about how to avoid sus-ceptible behaviors. We also provide insights on how to get help if students or their friends get trapped in this ter-rible situation.
