He promises that the Spirit will teach “everything.” Everything! Jesus’ words reveal the completeness of God’s plan. God, who could have chosen any method in the world to offer salvation to humanity, insists on acting as a unity of three persons in perfect complementarity. This is a profound and delightful mystery. We praise the one, undivided God, whose very existence is a commun- ion. Contemplating God, we feel the awesome power of community. God prefers existing in relationship, and so must we. We recognize the sacred call to in- terdependence. This glorious feast of Pentecost in- vites us to consider all the people we know—and maybe especially the ones we tend to fear, reject, ignore, or dread—and ask the Spirit to teach us how to form better relationships with them. Even if we have tried before and failed, we boldly ask again. As Jesus says, the Spirit teaches everything. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.

On Father’s Day weekend, the Altar Guild will be having a Bake Sale fundraiser. Home-baked items will be sold before

and after all of the weekend Masses. If you bake, and would like to help the Guild, you can bring your home-baked goods to the church hall on Saturday, from 2:00- 5:00pm, or on Sunday morning before the 9am Mass. We hope you will consider either donating some home-baked goods or purchasing some to help the Altar Guild raise money for the parish, and we thank you in advance.

ALTAR GUILD FATHER’S DAY BAKE SALE

St. Thomas is preparing food for the “Table” at the Presbyterian Church every third Thursday of each month. We hope you will use the sign-up sheet so we know what food you bring and who the volunteer helpers will be on that Thursday. We need potatoes, carrots, ham, green beans, and milk. The sign-up sheet for the food is on the “Table” board and a half barrel marked “Table” underneath where you can put food the Sunday before. This is on the NW corner of the Social Hall.

THE TABLE

Adoration of the Blessed Sacra-ment on Friday, July 5th, the First Friday of the month, from 9am to 10pm. Mass is celebrat-ed at 12pm. Please come and join us for Adoration on this

First Friday. We need people to sign up for an hour of adoration during the 13 hours. The sign-up sheet is on the parish bulletin board in the church hall. Please consider signing up for an hour to ensure we have every hour covered, and hopefully by more than just one person per hour.

BLESSED SACRAMENT ADORATION

This weekend we are celebrating the solemnity of the Holy Spirit. Each year, as we celebrate this so-lemnity, we are reminded that all the graces that happen in the Church is because of the Holy Spirit. Just like the disciples, we have all received the Holy Spirit through the sacraments of baptism and confirmation. In the very same way, just as the disciples, all of us are called to continue to go forth and proclaim the Good News in all that we do. I will continue to pray so that all of us might do our best to let the Holy Spirit guide us in our daily lives closer to God and His Holy Church. Fr. Abel

At our June "Doughnut Sunday" we raised $47.80 for St. Thomas Aquinas Parish. A big Thank You to Joan Andrego and Allyana Letts for heading up this month's "Doughnut Sun-day." We also want to thank Anne Marie Mourad for her monetary donation towards the doughnuts. There will be no Doughnut Sundays after the 11:00 AM Mass in the months of July and August.

Gospel: Jn 14:15-16, 23b-26

R. Alleluia, alleluia. Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your

love. R. Alleluia, alleluia.

R. Aleluya, aleluya.

R. Aleluya.

Jesus said to his disciples: "If you love me, you will keep my com-mandments. And I will ask the Fa-ther, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always. "Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him. Those who do not love me do not keep my words; yet the word you hear is not mine but that of the Father who sent me. "I have told you this while I am with you. The Advocate, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you."
