PASTOR’S MESSAGE

Doughnut Sunday

Having focus or a goal in mind is so important in all that we do. Many times we need a word of en-couragement or even a sign that help us to keep our focus to finish a task or to just simply get over or finish a journey. St. John the Baptist is the sign that guides us as we continue in this advent season searching for God in our lives. The goal of St. John the Baptist is to always lead others to Christ by repentance and forgiveness. Have we repented and forgiven others? I understand that this may not be so easy for everyone, but we must all do our best to repent and forgive others, just as God forgives all of us. It is when we repent and forgive that we are able to enjoy the grace of God in our lives. I would hope that all of us may continue in spiritual journey of repentance and forgiveness during this time of advent so that we may all be in the grace of God always. May God continue to bless all of us at St. Thomas, Fr. Abel

At our December "Doughnut Sunday" we raised $59.80 for St. Thomas Aquinas Parish. A big Thank You to the Buyarski Family, Dolores Desylva and our anonymous doughnut donor for heading up this month's "Doughnut Sunday." If you would like to sponsor a month please con-tact Maureen Eckert at (707) 227-9031. We need sponsors for future months!

P. Abel

Gospel: Lk 3:1-6

R. Alleluia, alleluia. Prepare the way of the Lord, make

straight his paths: all flesh shall see the salvation of God. R. Alleluia, alleluia.

R. Aleluya, aleluya.

R. Aleluya.

In the fifteenth year of the reign of Ti-berius Caesar, when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, and Herod was tetrarch of Galilee, and his broth-er Philip tetrarch of the region of Itu-raea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias was tetrarch of Abilene, during the high priesthood of Annas and Caia-phas, the word of God came to John the son of Zechariah in the desert. John went throughout the whole region of the Jordan, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins, as it is written in the book of the words of the prophet Isaiah: A voice of one crying out in the desert: “Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths. Every valley shall be filled and every mountain and hill shall be made low. The winding roads shall be made straight, and the rough ways made smooth, and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.”

Entonces comenzó a
