Twenty-Fourth Sunday in ordinary time ~ September 15, 2019
Dear Parishioners: The 2019 Catholic Stewardship Appeal began back in early February. Both of our parishes had surpassed our goals by the first week of May. So what has been contributed since then is icing on the cake. The most recent report, which covers the year through Labor Day, shows both SJB and STA to be well ahead of where we were at at the same time last year. In tabular form, it looks like this: SJB Amount Goal % of Goal Donors out of % participation as of 9/3/19 $108,572 $87,500 124.08% 348 1,417 24.56% as of 9/10/18 $83,629 $87,500 95.58% 302 1,435 21.05% Total for 2018 $100,314 $87,500 114.64% 326 1,421 22.94% Total for 2017 $85,823 $86,000 99.79% 303 1,436 21.10% Total for 2016 $95,805 $84,000 114.05% 307 1,438 21.35% STA Amount Goal % of Goal Donors out of % participation as of 9/3/19 $26,347 $23,000 114.55% 134 465 28.82% as of 9/10/18 $25,150 $23,000 109.35% 125 468 26.71% Total for 2018 $28,165 $23,000 122.46% 133 469 28.36% Total for 2017 $24,306 $20,000 121.53% 125 465 26.88% Total for 2016 $23,125 $18,000 128.47% 132 462 28.57% I think there are two things that are really impressive about your participation in this year’s Catholic Stewardship Ap-peal: the dollar figures and the growing levels of participation in both parishes. Notwithstanding the fact that Jesus said in the Gospel of Matthew, “In giving alms you are not to let your left hand know what your right hand is doing” (Mt 6:3), I believe that you, the people of St. John the Baptist and St. Thomas Aquinas Parishes, deserve to be acknowledged and
thanked for your generous response to the CSA. So, Thank You!!! Father Phil

Curious about RCIA? Know someone who is considering becoming Catholic?
You are cordially invited to learn what Catholics believe in an open and welcoming environment through the RCIA Program. RCIA stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. Anyone is welcome to participate - from folks who
have been baptized in a different Christian faith to those who have never been baptized in any faith to ‘cradle Catholics’ who want to know the Catholic faith
more completely. Through RCIA, adults can become fully initiated into the Catholic Church by receiving Baptism, First Holy Communion and/or Confirmation if they desire. The first RCIA session is scheduled for Thursday, October 10 from 6:30-8 PM in St John the Baptist School
Conference Room (next to the School Office). Contact Paige Katzfey via phone at (920) 892-4006 x118 or email at [email protected]
for more information and/or to register.
