We have gone through an en re year as a merged parish, can you believe how me flies! I want to thank you for all of your coopera on and generosity which has not only made the merge successful, but also made our schools safer and in compliance with earthquake codes.
May the gi of grace carry you through into the New Year of 2018 and offer you health and prosperity in this life and the prospect of a life to come. Pray for me as I venture to Rome for my Sabba cal as I will be praying for you and missing you. Fathers Kevin, Te, Larry, George, Paulinus, Larry & Stewart along with the gentle guidance of Sr. Noreen will minister to you in my absence.

Reflec on on the Gospel
Forever I will sing the goodness of the Lord! Today we hear the familiar story of the angel Gabriel announcing to Mary that she will conceive and bear the Son of God. “Nothing is impossible with God!” On this last Sunday before Christmas, we ponder Mary’s response, YES, let it be done to me according to your word.
Mary is the model for all believers. She made a home within her heart for the Son of God. We are asked to do the same. As we stand at the threshold of Christmas, may we allow God’s word to open our hearts, making a recep ve home there for Christ, our Lord and Savior.

REQUEST FORMS AND RETURN ENVELOPES ARE ON THE BACK TABLE IN THE CHURCH.
ST MONICA’S MEMORIAL WALL IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR PARISHIONERS AND FRIENDS. If you want to remember you loved ones or friends, you can have a plaque made with their names (maximum of 50 le ers) which will be placed at the memorial wall inside the entrance of the church. WALK FOR LIFE WEST COAST The 14th Annual Walk for Life will take place on January 27, 2018. It will begin with a special 9:30 concelebrated Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone. A er Mass every one will gather at the Civic Center Plaza where the Informa on Faire and Walk for Life Rally will take place before the 1.3 mile walk down Market Street to Jus n Herman Plaza.
