What a lovely celebration we had
on Sunday for Pentecost. It was
fantastic to see all of the
students there for our School and
Parish Combined Service.
BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL Children should NOT be at school before 8:00am and not here after 3:30pm (unless having
a sports practice) as there is no one to supervise them. This is a health and safety issue.
RAT TRAPS: Term 4 2018 the Year 8 students were studying Pest Control and were working with Taranaki Regional Council selling rat traps. The Taranaki Regional Council have offered subsidised box-tunnel rat traps that are safe around pets and children.
They cost $10.00 each and include the box-tunnel, the trap and information on how to use the trap and to record your catches. They are available from the school office.
LUCKY BOOK CLUB: Closes Friday 28th June. CHILD ABSENCES: Parents please phone, text or email the School Office when your child is going to be LATE or
ABSENT, (with a reason) NOT just the Classroom Teacher. We record absentees (and late students) electronically for Ministry of Education, and we HAVE to enter a reason for the absence from school.

Tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou katoa, mihi nui ki a koutou katoa
Hello everybody, warm greetings to everyone
Thank you to all our whanau, church community, children and staff for a wonderful celebration on Sunday. The mass was beautiful, and to see the church celebrating together was awesome. Thank you to everyone who helped to prepare the children and especially the children who did an awesome job.
Thank you to the PTF for the bake sale, they raised $370 dollars to go towards projects for the children. Please come along to a meeting and see how the PTF supports our school.
We welcome back Erica Stephens to room 10, we hope that Chris is doing well and that being back at work won’t slow down his progress. The board has approved that Kirsten Midgley will be on leave next term. This will mean all extension programs will be on hold for term 3.
We will be welcoming a new Board of Trustees later today and we are looking forward to working together to govern St. Joseph’s School.
Kia te wairua tapu ki runga ki a koutou katoa. ~ May the Holy Spirit be upon you all.
Geraldine Sumner ~ Principal.
Trinity Sunday C: ‘Jesus promises the Spirit of Truth’
White Proverbs 8:22-31 Psalm 104 8 John 16:12-15
We have many different ways of relating to the
people we know. In our family we might be a son or
a daughter, a niece or a nephew, a brother or a
sister. We might be a friend, a cousin, a grandson or
granddaughter. Sometimes we might even be an aunt
or an uncle. We might have more than one
relationship with someone else. In the same way, the
depth of God’s relationship with us is indicated by
the three persons of the Holy Trinity – the Father,
the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Trinity’ means something made up of three, and on Sunday we give thanks for the three
persons of God – the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Trinity is a mystery
that we cannot really understand, but in today’s Gospel Jesus tells us that he is the image
of what God is like, and the same Spirit that was in him is available for us today.
Room 6’s Statistics in Maths. We have learnt how to graph different information in lots of
ways. We are now learning about Fractions, so we thought we
would see if we can put them together (stats and fractions).
We had to choose our favourite sport, ice-cream, cake and
pizza flavours. Then we grouped them. We learnt about
wholes, halves and quarters as well as what was the most
popular is. Can you tell what the most popular ice-cream,
cake and pizza flavours and sports are?
And what the fractions are? We can!!
Congratulations to the following students for their amazing results in the recent Speech
& Drama exams. This takes a lot of time and effort for the children and it is great to see
all of their hard work pay off with these results.
