MIHIWAKA

For our learning in geometry, we made 3D shapes out of playdough and toothpicks, We buddied up to make them. Here

are some pictures of what we made. We had great fun! We made cubes, cones, pyramids, cylinders, prisms and lots

more. Keita and Josh

In the last few weeks, Mihiwaka have been writing about the Moon Landing. How Buzz and Neil were the first people to walk on the moon. Lots of people were really interested in the topic! We are publishing in docs, finishing up the details and adding photos. Naomi is very impressed by how hard we've worked. In Mihiwaka people are very focused on work and love doing it. Beth and Evie

KAPUKA

As part of Kapuka’s inquiry topic about ‘Change,’ students completed a ‘Home Project’ that got them thinking and planning about how we might change the design and layout of the classroom. Below are a few screenshots of the work of Lachie and Alex who used different online design software to digitally present and communicate their ideas.

Manaaki Papatuanuku

This term we are focusing our learning around Zero Waste, lunch box waste and waste around the community. We are going to go out into the community and complete some cleanups, go for a walk around the estuary track, and take a trip to the beach to clean up there. We will need some help with these trips, so if you can volunteer please email me and I will pencil you in. These are the following dates and what is happening:

Week 5 (21st August) Estuary walk - leaving school at 1:30 and returning before 3 pm.

Week 7 (4th September) Beach trip - We will need cars for this, please! Let me know if you can help.

Week 8 (11th September) Community Clean up

Week 10 (25th September) Children’s clothes swap! Bring along all of your preloved clothes and pick up something new!

If you have any questions please email or have a chat.
