BOARD OF DIRECTORS MESSAGE

The months of July, August and September represent the final quarter of our financial year. In spite of the dampening effects of the recession, your Credit Union continues to record healthy growth and profitability. Owners are demonstrating confidence by placing more deposits, loans and mortgages with their Credit Union.

The Annual AGM of the Credit Union System of New Brunswick (CUCNB) was held in Fredericton on April 18th, 2009. It was a productive AGM. The high-lite was approval of a special resolution of delegates by a margin of 68% to 32% enabling CUCNB to amalgamate with Centrals in NS and PEI to form one Atlantic Central. The time frame to achieve this is June 2010. The new entity will provide economies of scale and access to new services. A Central provides trade services, however, regulation of NB Credit Unions will continue to be retained by the Province of New Brunswick under the Credit Union Act and Regulations.

As always, your elected Board of Directors is receptive to change which will improve the service offering to owners and enhance operations. It has commenced discussion with Carleton Pioneer Credit Union to determine if a merger or amalgamation would be mutually beneficial to owners of both Credit Unions. Discussions are preliminary and any recommendation to change the status of the Credit Union would be based on benefits and require majority support of owners. We will keep you informed.

Are you one of the owners who has received a telephone call from our staff thanking you for your support and inquiring if we may be of further assistance? We are hoping to call everyone over the next few weeks. Our Cross Selling and “Loan and Mortgage” Campaign is in progress and now may be a good time to consider consolidation of your credit card and other debt to reduce interest rates and monthly payments. If you are considering home renovations, purchase or construction of a new residence we invite you to call.

This front page features activity with the High School Graduate Bursary Program this year. We congratulate the successful candidates and wish them much future success. On another note, over the next few weeks staff expects to finalize details necessary to offer U.S. Dollar Savings and Chequing Accounts. An update report will be forthcoming.

Please enjoy the summer period keeping in mind we are nearing the time of year when we provide information to owners interested in volunteering for Board or Committee work at the upcoming fall Annual General Meeting. Look for details in October.

Sincerely

David G. Preston President2 3

TAKE OWNERSHIP OF YOUR FINANCES

Volume 3 No2 - Winner – Doreen Dorothy Draw Date: September 22, 2009

Rest easy knowing your Credit Union has the regulations and policies in place to offer stable financial services during a time of financial and economic uncertainty.

We are locally owned by the very same people who we provide services to and we are provincially regulated. Our financial stability is a reflection of the business we do in New Brunswick. Credit Unions do not have international divisions, affiliates, corporations or dealings that would expose our Owners to high-risk scenarios experienced recently in the USA.

New Brunswick Credit Unions are well prepared to deal with industry instability because of our structured investing and lending policies. These provincially regulated policies ensure we maintain a conservative level of risk and a secured position when lending.

In addition, we have strong liquidity levels (higher that the regulatory minimum). This means Credit Unions hold a strong position servicing the needs of our mortgage and loan requirements for our Owners.

Our knowledgeable financial professionals can guide you to a stable financial future, while further strengthening our local economies. Credit Unions provide the investment options that New Brunswickers and our businesses need during thesechallenging financial times.

debilitating disease that we decided to put together a team of staff members, family and friends and took part in the Fredericton Super Cities MS Walk. Because the MS walk is a central part of the society's fundraising efforts, we decided to raise as much money as we could and set a goal of $ 1000.00. In the end we are proud to say we exceeded our goal and raised a total of $1434.78 through two successful draws on a Mother's Day Basket and a Golf Package, free will donations for coffee and donuts on Fridays and donation jars set up in the branch. The 5-kilometre walk was trying at times, but Team FUNdraisers endured the heat and hills to support our family and friends who suffer from this disease and it was well worth it!!We would like to extend a special thanks to the owners of Capital Credit Union who supported us in this cause and to all the staff who were not able to walk but helped with our fundraising activities.
