Fibo and friends came to Riverdale! In the span of two weeks our Riverdale students learned about the famous artist John James Audubon. Students learned that he was an American ornithologist, naturalist, and painter. He was famous for his studies of all types of American birds and for his detailed watercolor illustrations that display birds in their natural habitats. Our students learned that his famous book, Birds of America was 435 pages long and 3 feet tall. He worked on it for 14 years! That’s perseverance! Our first graders were so excited to have the opportunity to make their own spectacular artwork. They used watercolors and real feathers to create a fabulous bird that is worthy of any museum!

TRAFFIC AND STUDENT SAFETY
Thank you for drive safely around the school. If your child rides the bus, please speak to them about the importance of going straight home, waiting for the person who picks them up, or walking safely with other students. If you are dropping off or picking up your child, please remember to park your car and pick your child up in front of the school and please use the marked crosswalks. We want all of our students to be at home in a timely, safe manner.
DISNEY MUSICALS IN SCHOOLS In March of this year Riverdale students lit up the stage preforming Disney’s The Aristocats. Thanks to the continued support of Segerstrom Center for the Arts and The Disney Musicals in Schools program students in grades 3-6 will have the opportunity to perform Disney’s musical The Lion King this year. Additional information will be coming home in October.
