Newage International's long experience in generator manufacture, together with a most advanced design, production and testing facilities in the world, ensures that the STAMFORD range of brush less ac generators sets an international standard for ruggedness and reliability.
The full STAMFORD range covers ratings for 5kVA to 2,500kVA to meet the most demanding needs for industrial, marine, commercial, construction, mining or telecommunications, in fact most applications for prime or standby power generation.
STAMFORD BC generators provide a range of 2 pole ratings from 11 kVA to 37.5 kVA (50Hz) and 13.6 kVA to 47 kVA (60Hz). A range of 4 pole ratings from 7.5 kVA to 31.3 kVA (50Hz) and 8.9 kVA to 37.5 kVA (60Hz) is also available

* SPECIFICATIONS AND OPTIONS STANDARDS BC16 and BC18 industrial generators meet the requirements of BS5000 Part 3, VDE0530, UTE5100, NEMA MG1-22, CEMA, IEC34-1, CSA22.2 and AS1359.
Marine generators may be certified to Lloyds, DnV, Bureau Veritas, ABS, Germanischer-Lloyd or RINA.
Other standards and certifications can be considered on request.
• EXCITATION SYSTEMS SX460 & SA465 AVRs The SX460 AVR is available for use with both BC16 and BC18 generators. The SA465 AVR is available for use with the BC18 generator only.
With these self-excited systems the main stator provides power via the automatic voltage regulator (AVR) to the exciter stator. The high efficiency semiconductors of the AVR ensure positive build up from initial low levels of residual voltage.
The exciter rotor output is fed to the main rotor through a three phase full wave bridge rectifier. The rectifier is protected by a surge suppressor against surges caused, for example, by short circuit or out-of-phase parallelling.
The SA465 will support a range of electronic accessories, including a 'droop' Current Transformer (CT) to permit parallel operation with other ac generators. SA665 AVR (BC 184 only) The SA665 AVR is a new regulator designed to receive its power input from an auxiliary winding in the main

INSULATION IMPREGNATION The insulation system is Class 'H'.
All wound components are impregnated with materials and processes designed specifically to provide protection against the harsh environments encountered in generator applications. Resin based materials are selected and developed to provide the high build required for static windings and the high mechanical strength required for rotating components.
WINDINGS 3 ELECTHICAL PERFORMAME All generator stators are wound to 2/3 pitch. This eliminates triplen (3rd, 9th, 15th ...) harmonics on the voltage waveform and is found to be the optimum design for trouble-free supply of non-linear loads. The 2/3 pitch design avoids excessive neutral currents sometimes seen with higher winding pitches, when in parallel with the mains. A fully connected damper winding reduces oscillations during paralleling. This winding, with the 2/3 pitch and carefully selected pole and tooth designs, ensures very low waveform distortion.
ELEPHIMF INTERFERENCE THE (as defined by BS4999 Part 40) is better than 2 0/0. TIF (as defined by ASA C50.12) is better than 50.
RADIO INTERFERENCE The absence of brushgear and the high quality AVR ensure low levels of interference with radio transmissions. Additional RFI suppression may be supplied if required.
ENCLOSURE IP23 (NEMA 1) is standard for all industrial and marine generators. Giving drip proof protection of 60° from the vertical.
Inlet air filters are available as an option on all generators, at reduced ratings (5%derate).
SHAFT & KEYS All generator rotors are dynamically balanced to better than BS6861: Part 1 Grade 2.5. for minimum vibration in operation. Two bearing generators are balanced with a half key.
ADAPTORS & COUPLINGS The BC generators are available in single and two bearing construction.
For the BC16 generators SAE 4, 5, and 6 adaptors, and SAE 6.5, 7.5, 8 and 10 disc couplings may be specified.
For the BC18 generator SAE 2, 3, 4 & 5 adaptors, and SAE 6.5, 7.5, 8, 10 and 11.5 disc couplings may be specified.
Note: If SAE 5 is used on the BC18 then it is necessary to derate the generator output by 5%.
QUALITY ASSURANCE Generators are manufactured using production procedures having a quality assurance level to BS5750 Part 2 (ISO 9002).

VOLTAGE REGULATION Stamford self excited AVRs are 2 phase average voltage sensed and will control the generator output voltage to within the following limits:

from no load to full load including cold to hot variations for any power factor between 0.8 lagging and unity allowing for a 4 0/o engine speed
TERMINALS & TERMINAL BOX Standard generators are 3 phase reconnectable with 12 ends brought out to the terminals, which are mounted on a cover at the non-drive end of the generator. A sheet steel terminal box contains the AVR and provides ample space for customers' wiring and gland arrangements. It has removable panels for easy access.

Industrial ratings are based on 40°C ambient temperature and 1000m altitude.
Marine ratings are based on 50°C ambient temperature.
3 phase units are reconnectable with 12 ends brought out to the terminals. Single phase ratings are available from reconnectable machines connected parallel zig-zag at 0.58 multiplier.
3 phase voltages listed are available from a single broad-range winding except 600V 60 Hz which required a different winding. Other voltages will be considered on request.
Industrial generators are available with an auxiliary winding at a reduced output. Refer to factory for details.
Derate for air inlet filters 5%.
