Timeless Tulips March 2020

Petal by Petal by Ashley Fifer of stampedAF (Canada)

Supplies Stamps: Timeless Tulips Butterfly Gala

Punch: Tulip Builder Butterfly Builder Classic Label

Dies: Stitched So Sweetly

Ink: Blushing Bride Granny Apple Green Real Red

Paper: A2 Whisper White Thick card base (5 ½ x 11” or 14 x 28 cm)

Peaceful Poppies dsp - green stripes (4 x 5 ½” or 10.2 x 14 cm) Peaceful Poppies dsp - large poppies (3 ¾ x 5” or 9.5 x 12.8 cm) Whisper White cardstock (3 ¾ x 5” or 9.5 x 12.8 cm) Scraps of Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green, and Blushing Bride cardstock to stamp images

Tools & Adhesive: Bone folder, Take Your Pick Tool, Paper Snips, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, Paper Trimmer, Stamparatus, and Silicone Craft Sheet.

Assembly 1. Adhere the green stripes pattern of the Peaceful Poppies dsp to the card base. Using the Classic Label

Punch, punch into both layers approximately 1 ½” from the left side. 2. Adhere the large poppies pattern of the Peaceful Poppies dsp on top of the green striped dsp. Punch

this layer as well. We are punching each layer as we go to help the punch with fewer layers and a cleaner punch.

3. Die cut the Whisper White cardstock using the largest rectangle die of the Stitched So Sweetly dies. Punch this layer as well.

4. Stamp 4-5 tulips using Real Red ink onto Poppy Parade cardstock. Punch each of the flowers. 5. Score each of the tulips down the middle using the Stampin’ Trimmer.

Page 5: Stamping Society March Timeless Tulips · 2020-02-29 · Bone folder, Take Your Pick Tool, Paper Snips, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, Paper Trimmer, Stamparatus,

6. Glue half of the tulip to the next flower to create a fan or chain. Place the tulips down on the inside of the card within the Classic Label punched layers. Apply some glue to the back of the flowers and allow to set.

7. Stamp a leaf using Granny Apple Green ink onto Granny Apple Green cardstock. Punch this leaf. 8. To get the leaf for the other side, mount the leaf stamp onto a plate on the Stamparatus. Ink up the

stamp and stamp it onto the Silicone Craft Sheet. Place a small piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock on top of the stamped image. Once again, stamp the leaf down. This will leave one leaf impression on the top of the cardstock, and one on the bottom. The top one helps to align the punch. You now have a mirror image of the leaf.

9. Using a bone folder, break up the fibers to add some bend to the end of the leaves. Adhere the leaves at the base of the punched layers at the bottom of the flowers. Do NOT get glue on the inside of the card.

10. Stamp the butterfly of your choice onto Blushing Bride cardstock using Real Red ink. Punch using the Butterfly Builder Punch. Add a small line of glue to the butterfly where the body is which allows the wings to appear as though it’s flying.

11. Stamp the sentiments on the front and inside of the card using Blushing Bride ink.

Timeless Tulips March 2020 By Martin Stone of Martin’s Mayhem (United Kingdom) How does that saying go? Tulips are a girl’s best friend? While this isn’t the case you will love the Timeless Tulip Stamp Set. Supplies Stamp Set: Timeless Tulips Photopolymer Stamp Set (English) [151534] Card Stock: Whisper White A4 Cardstock [106549] Old Olive A4 Cardstock [106576] Rich Razzleberry A4 Cardstock [119981] Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper [149612] Tools & Adhesive: Stampin' Dimensionals [104430] Multipurpose Liquid Glue [154974] Paper Snips [10357] Aqua Painters [103954] Sponge Daubers [133773] Paper Trimmer [152392] Peaceful Poppies Sequins [151325] Ink Pads: Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad [147090] Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad [147091] Pool Party Classic Stampin' Pad [147107] Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad [132708] Assembly

1. Taking your Old Olive card stock, cut down to 14.8cm x 21cm (5½ x 8½) and score across at 10.5 or 4¼. This will create a standard C6 card base.

2. You will need two further pieces of card stock. One piece of the Rich Razzleberry 1cm x 14.8cm, the second is a piece of Whisper White measuring 9cm x 14.8cm. I normally leave the length of the card stock a little long and trim the excess off later.

Page 13: Stamping Society March Timeless Tulips · 2020-02-29 · Bone folder, Take Your Pick Tool, Paper Snips, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, Paper Trimmer, Stamparatus,

3. With the piece of Whisper White, you will need to take your Pool Party Ink and a Sponge Dauber. In a circle motion apply the ink onto the piece of Whisper White. Once you are happy with the blend you can add watermarks by adding water drips.

4. Attach the strip of Rich Razzleberry to the underside on the right side of the Whisper White. This can then be attached to your card base. I left a larger space on the right just to add a little interest to the card.

5. For the flowers, leaf and steams you will want to stamp these onto a piece of Fluid 100 watercolour paper. This stuff is fabulous. I stamped the Tulips down in Rich Razzleberry and the stem and leafs in Old Olive. To soften the images I worked the stamped images with a Aqua Painter. This also helps to fill the area cleanly.

6. I punched out the images I could with the coordinating punch and then cut along the image line. This make things a lot easier to cut. Arrange these onto your card.

7. I brought in the Strong and Beautiful Stamp Set as I brought the Timeless Tulip set in Dutch/German. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Ink.

8. To finish, within the Peaceful Poppies Sequins are the amazing clear Sequins. I adhered 5 to my project. The amount you add doesn’t matter – just keep it odd.
