SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES THAT BRING DESIRED RESULTS

A Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) is utilized to assure quality products at preferred pricing

o Three GPOs with preferred provider relationship are utilized to maximize benefitso Market basket comparisons are done every 12 to 18 monthso A Formulary has been established to assure quality and cost effective medical procurement

Staff Education and Training is coordinated with Healthcare Academy, an online professional software organization – complimented by hands on support and webinars

Systems for Disaster Preparedness to assure resident safety during inclement weather and power outage are prepared utilizing a support network of our communities in the St. Louis area

Comprehensive Corporate Compliance and Survey Processo Conduct mock surveys to prepare staff for licensure inspectionso Introduce a Comprehensive Corporate Compliance Plan with prepared education and

training for owners, residents, families and staffo Policies, procedures and training modules are implemented related to Whistle Blower, Red

Flag and HIPAA HITECH

Culinary Programso All dining programs are customized to needs of clientso Chefs are recruited and trainedo High standards for Sani-safe certifications are required

Resident and Staff Satisfaction Surveyso Resident surveys are conducted annually by an independent 3rd partyo Action plans are prepared, results are tracked and outcomes are shared with Ownerso Today, St. Andrew’s averages above a 4.0 on a 5.0 scale

Marketing Planso Detailed marketing plans are created and competitor analysis is studied, results tracked and

reported to Ownerso Staff understand that “marketing is everyone’s responsibility”o Formal customer service programs are in place

Financial Reporting and Controlso Capital and operating budgets are prepared and benchmarked to industry normso Cash and Investment management planso Financial reporting systems generate monthly P&Ls and track accounts receivable,

payables, cash flows. Audit commendation for excellence in internal controls.

Technologyo A Help Desk has been created to provide online and offline IT supporto Backup and recovery off site systems are in place for disaster recovery

COMMITMENT TO STAFF EXCELLENCE

o Our Staff Recruitment and Retention Committees have resulted in low staff turnover by

industry standards with the average through June for all communities at 22%.

o Employee safety programs have created a worker’s compensation modifier average of .95.

No lost time injuries at many communities. Brooking Park has had no lost time injuries for

the last three years. St. Andrew’s communities have received in total over $220,000 in

dividends for the stellar results.

o Annual Employee Satisfaction Surveys are conducted with benchmarks and goals to assure

good relationships are maintained and labor issues are addressed.

o All open staff positions are internally posted across the communities resulting in career

paths and retention of quality driven staff for the 1,000+ positions.

OTHER ACCOMPLI SHM ENTS OF ST. ANDREW’S CLIENTS

o The Sarah Community – Rated as one of the top 18 Nursing Homes in country and #5 inMissouri, according to the 2011 U.S. News and World Report.

o 4 out of 5 Skilled Facilities hold a 5-Star rating; the highest accomplishment is given by

CMS (Center for Medicare and Medicaid).

o Brooking Park – deficiency free in 2010 Annual State Licensure Survey and six (6)

deficiency-free inspections in assisted living in the last nine years. The Sarah

Community, Cape Albeon, New Florence, Villa Theresa and Mizpah Manor have also

experienced a deficiency-free survey, which is only achieved by 7% of the facilities across

the country.

o All HUD inspections are at 93% or better.

o Respite Programs, A la Carte Services, Concierge and other differentiating programs have

been initiated to focus on census enhancement. The majority of communities are at 90% or

higher occupancy.

o Implementation of renovations in the communities with budgets in the $ millions.
