their Mungana, King Vol and Chillagoe Camp (Village) operations.
Both this plan and any associated documents encompass the complete Waste Management Program for
Auctus Resources.
1.2 Scope
This plan applies to all Auctus Resources employees and contractors for its:
• Mungana and King Vol mining operations (ML’s 4910, 4911, 4921. 4928, 4977, 5176, 5319, 20640 and
20658) under EA EMPL00562913;
• Chillagoe Camp operations, licensed under Environmental Authority EPPR00511313 (Development
Authority IDPE00681307); and,
• All associated, on-site activities with these operations.
The Waste Management Program applies to all waste management for the above Auctus Resources’ sites
for waste that is deemed to be Non-Mineral Waste as per the Environmental Authority (EA).

4.2 Waste Management Control Strategies
Waste generated via Auctus Resources’ activities will be managed in accordance with legal, license and
permit obligations. Waste will be managed in accordance with the relevant procedure as outlined in the
Waste Management Documents section.
A summary of how the different waste streams will be managed is provided in Appendix A. This includes
summary of anticipated volumes of the different waste. This will be reconciled over time with actual
volumes generated from site as captured within the Waste Register.
Further detail on strategies and procedures for waste reduction and management in accordance with the
waste hierarchy are in included in the procedures specific for managing that type of waste. Where waste
reduction strategies are identified, and adopted, they will be captured in the Environmental Objectives and
Targets Register.
4.3 Waste Segregation and Storage
All waste on site will be segregated into the different types of waste (i.e. general, regulated, recyclable and
green(where practicable)), with further segregation within each waste streams into the type of waste. This
will follow the waste contractor’s guidelines, as required. All waste storage containers will be appropriately
labelled to identify the type of waste contained/ to be stored within.
Waste will be stored in appropriately designed containers (in accordance with Australian Standards, where
relevant). Generally, chemical, regulated and hazardous wastes will be stored within/on bunded areas, or in
self-bunded storages, especially where the waste is a liquid. These bunded areas will be in accordance with
the appropriate Australian Standard, where relevant.
Waste storage areas will be centralized points at the offices, process plant, workshop and warehouse for
the wastes generated from these areas. Regulated wastes shall be collected to a centralized point at the
former Heap Leach Laydown area prior to transport off site.
Further detail on the waste segregation and storage is contained within the relevant associated procedure
as described in the Waste Management Documents section.
4.4 Waste Transport
General waste, recyclables and green waste will be collected and transported off site to a suitable
collection centre.

Regulated, Chemical and Hazardous Waste will be collected and transported off site by a Waste
Transporter as qualified and licensed under the Environmental Protection Regulation 2008 for these
activities.
4.5 Waste Management Monitoring and Reporting
Waste generated on site will be tracked as per the waste register (see Waste Management Documents
section for further detail). Additionally, any incidents or spills associated with waste management will be
documented within the Auctus Incident Responses Processes.
Reporting of waste generation and management will occur as per legislative, license and permit
requirements. Key reporting may include, National Pollution Inventory (NPI), National Greenhouse and
Energy Reporting scheme (NGERs) and Annual Returns, as triggered.
4.6 Waste Contamination and Spill Response
Where an incident occurs in relation to a release, spill, contamination or potential pollution from waste
items on site it will be managed in accordance with the Hazardous Substances and Hydrocarbons
Management documents and the Environmental Emergency and Incident Plan documents. Refer to these
documents for further detail.
4.7 Waste Management Audit and Review
The waste management program will be audited in accordance with Environmental Compliance Plan. The
audit and inspection process, scheduling of audits/inspections, plus management and tracking of action
items, is outlined within this document.
Any waste management program improvement projects will be captured and tracked within the
Environmental Objectives and Targets Register.
4.8 Waste Management Induction and Training
Induction and training for Auctus Resources’ expectations and requirements for waste management is
outlined within the Environmental Training and Awareness Plan. Key requirements are outlined to all
personnel in the Site Induction process and then ongoing via the Environmental Awareness Packages.
5. WASTE MANAGEMENT DOCUMENTS
To ensure that the objectives of the Waste Management Program are achieved there are multiple
documents within the framework that manage the activities and requirements associated with waste
management for Auctus Resources activities. The structure of this framework is outlined below in Figure 1.
A brief description of these documents is provided in Table 2. For specific detail the relevant document
should be referred to.
