Accessory components thatsimplify system design.
Helios has a long tradition ofexperience in designing andmanufacturing accessoriesto complete the fan range. This enabled Helios approxi-mately 50 years ago to devel-op the world’s first polymershutter range.
Designed to suit today’s archi-tectural requirements, the lat-est techniques combined withpractical installation are char-acteristic advantages of theHelios shutters, louvres, rain
repellent grilles, backdraughtshutters (page 371) as well aswall and roof terminations.
Sound insulation and airvolume elements SVE (page372) combine the air flowadjustment and the soundlevel reduction in a cost-effec-tive and space saving way.SVE are installed simply inthe ducting and they can beadjusted in series, one afteranother for further noisereduction.
The automatic air flow volumestabiliser VKH (page 372) isa low cost solution to provide aconstant air flow volume inducting as well as in air inletand outlets.Made of flame retardant poly-mer, class B1 DIN 4102-1.

At the minimum static pressurelevel the butterfly valve opensthe cross section completely.
The guiding cylinder is responsi-ble for an equal movement offlaps and controls therefore therelation between pressure andair flow volume.
Installation Simple insertion in vertical orhorizontal ducts, matchingnominal duct diameter.
The direction shown for the airflow must be considered.
Perfect fitting and tightness isensured due to textile sealingstrip.
Easy change of air flow volumefor each diameter of VKH.Thereby the other system inletsand outlets are not affected.
Automatic adjustment to giveconstant air flow volume over a wide pressure range.

Perfectly suited for all types ofinstallation in any room.
Extract air elements have animportant position in moderncentral ventilation systems.Together with the fan theycreate the base for operationof the extraction system. Thenew generation of the inno-vative Helios extract elementsAE meet this need with varia-ble air flow volumes or withtime, motion and humiditycontrol. Page 375 on
Filter elements collect greaseand dust deposits on extractair elements and valves as wellas in ducting. Simple and costeffective. Page 378
The ETS attenuators reducethe sound transmission ofducting and can be used ascross talk attenuators.
Page 379
Conventional extract and sup-ply valves are suitable for sim-ple commercial and industrialapplications.
Page 380
Outside air flow elementsThe controlled input of outsideair is vital for ventilation sys-tems, that comply with theenergy conservation regulati-ons (EnEV) or DIN 18017-3.
An ideal air extract system ter-mination outside the buildingcan be acheived effectively usingthe outside air elements (page384). InstallationZTV valves can be easily instal-led in existing supply air ope-nings. They are fixed to ductingby push fit (with rubber gasket)or by three concealed fixing ho-les in the frame supplied withfixing screws.
FunctionThe thermostat operates auto-matically within a temperaturerange of – 6 °C to +20 °C.Within this range air flow volumesbetween 0 and 30 m3/h areachieved conforming to DINguidelines. See performancediagrams on the right. In itsstandard setting the valve closescompletely at outside air tempe-rature of approx.– 4 °C. A minimum supply air ra-te is allowed by the 4 mm widedistance clip. The initial settingof the valve can be changedmanually by rotating the centrecore. One full rotation equals toa variance of 4 mm gap (seeblue marked areas in diagram).
Number of unitsThe number of supply air ele-ments necessary is to be defi-ned according to DIN 1946, T.6in dependence to the apartmentsize and wind force (see charton the right).
