SCHOOL SONG

(The school song will be sung during themorning assembly on Mondays and all school functions)

Land of our birth, we pledge to theeOur love and toil in the years to be;When we are grown and take our place,As men and women with our race.

Father in heaven, who lovest all,O help Thy children when they call;That they may build from age to age,An undefiled heritage.

Teach us delight in simple things,And mirth that has no bitter springs;Forgiveness free of evil done.And love to all men 'neath the Sun!

Land of our birth, our faith, our pride,For whose dear sake our fathers died;O motherland, we pledge to thee.Head, heart and hands through the years to be !

DAVID HOUSE

Marching onward, marching forward‘Tis the song we ever singMite to might is David’s motto

From a shepherd to a KingHumble serviceCheerfully givenCourage to be true and strongFaith in God will ever lead us onwardHelp us strive to right each wrong.

FRITCHLEY HOUSE

Stand Fritchley House by your coloursMay its motto be our guiding light“Honor virtutus praemium’Leads us on the conquer in its might

Poppies red we pledge to thee our promiseTo keep our motto shining pure and brightStand Fritchley House by your coloursFor those colours stand for honor and right

JAMAICAN FAREWELL

Down the way where the nights are gayAnd the sun shines daily on the mountain top,I took a trip on a sailing ship,And when 1 reached Jamaica, I made a stop.

But l”m sad to say, I’m on my way.I won’t be back for many a dayMy heart is down, my head is turning aroundI had to leave a little girl in Kingston town.

Sounds of laughter everywhere,And the dancing girls swaying to and fro;I must declare that my heart is there,Through I’ve been from Maine to MexicoDown at the market you can hear ladiesCry out while on their heads they bear,Ackie, rice, salt fish are nice,And the sun is fine any time of year.

WHEN THE SAINTS GO MARCHING IN

I am just a lonely travellerThrough this big wide world of sin.Want to join that grand processionWhen the saints go marching in,

Oh! when the saints, go marching in,Oh! when the saints go marching in,Lord, I want to be in that numberWhen the saints go marching in.

Come and join on my journey,Cause it’s time we did begin,And we’ll be there for that judgmentWhen the saints go marching in.

We are marching in the footstepsOf those who’ve marched before,And someday we’ll be united.When we meet those saints once more.Oh, when the sun, refuse to shineOh, when the moon; turns into blood

3. Before the hills in order stood,Or earth received her frame,From everlasting Thou art God,To endless years the same.

4. A thousand ages in Thy sight.Are like an evening gone;Short as the watch that ends the nightBefore the rising sun.

5. Time like an ever rolling stream;Bears all its sons away;They fly forgotten, as a dreamDies at the opening day

6. O God, our help in ages pastOur hope for years to come;Be Thou our guard while life shall last.And our eternal home.

O LORD MY GOD

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,How great Thou art, How great Thou art.Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeurAnd see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,He bled and died to take away my sin.

Praise Him! praise Him! ever in joyful song!

Praise Him! praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer,

For our sins He suffered and bled and died;

He, our Rock, our Hope of eternal salvation,

Hail Him! hail Him! Jesus, the Crucified;

Loving Savior, meekly enduring sorrow,

Crowned with thorns that cruelly pierced His brow;

Once for us rejected, despised, and forsaken,

Prince of Glory, ever triumphant now.

Praise Him! praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer,

Heavenly portals, loud with hosannahs ring!

Jesus, Savior, reigneth for ever and ever;

Crown Him! crown Him! Prophet and Priest and King!

Death is vanquished! Tell it with joy, ye faithful,

Where is now thy victory, boasting grave?

Jesus lives! No longer thy portals are cheerless;

Jesus lives, the mighty and strong to save.
