Hello and welcome to Stanmar,

AS THE NATION’S LEADING design and construction athletic facility specialist, we know how transformative these facilities are for our clients. Students, faculty, alumni, and the greater surrounding community use their facilities to relieve stress, compete with their teammates, and build life-long health and nutrition habits.

FOR OVER 30 YEARS, our sole focus has been on designing and constructing multipurpose athletic and recreational facilities for independent colleges, universities, and secondary schools nationwide.

MORE THAN 75 CLIENTS IN OVER 20 STATES have entrusted our integrated team of architects, engineers, and construction specialists to deliver the custom facility that’s right for their institution – a process that requires us to synthesize our clients’ program needs, aesthetic standards, and finances.

EACH FACILITY REPRESENTS A RELATIONSHIP forged through inclusive and comprehensive planning, a Guaranteed Fixed Price delivered early in the process, and efficient and orderly construction without any change orders.

FOR FOUR GENERATIONS, my family’s commitment to each client has ensured every facility has been completed on time and on budget. Upon opening, we love to see each facility come alive both immediately and for years to come. Our relationships, like our facilities, are built to last.

As you consider your next athletic facility project, I encourage you to review this portfolio and talk to some of our clients to learn why they chose Stanmar to realize their goals. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to working with you.

Sincerely,

Oliver SniderVice President, Business Development

Steve Tisch Sports & Fitness Center

I’ve been coaching at Tufts since before we opened the Steve Tisch Sports and Fitness Center, and can speak to how powerfully it has transformed our athletic programs and daily student life. I love our new state-of-the art Sports and Fitness Center, which has helped in recruitment, and is a tremendous asset for all of Tuft’s community. We pride ourselves on having one of the best facilities in the northeast and look forward sharing it with all those who touch the Tufts community for years to come.

Ronald M. Baglio Sports & Fitness Center

The beauty of Stanmar lies in their expertise in athletic and recreational buildings on both the design and construction side. Because Stanmar has completed over 75 facilities, they know the issues surrounding an athletic center that other architects wouldn’t, and we reaped the benefits of their great design and experience.

Jane P. Batten Student Center

We chose Stanmar to design and build our building because we felt they were the best around. We wanted someone who had experience in this area and Stanmar’s know-how was a strength. When you look at our building, there’s a definite feeling that it belongs on campus. Our student center is the finest facility in our league by far. In fact, our facility is the talk of the whole state of Virginia!

One of our faculty members, a former lawyer and a member of our design committee, mentioned that Stanmar’s ability to stick to the construction schedule is something rarely seen in her 10 years of legal practice in real estate development. The site manager had done a terrific job by accommodating the ongoing needs of the School. Stanmar has been responsive, resourceful, and timely and we are very pleased about the quality of the workmanship. In short, we are very pleased that we invited Stanmar to design and build our new facility.

Pete Hanna Center

In the seven years since Stanmar completed the facility, the Pete Hanna Center has truly become a home for all 17 varsity sports and their 350 student-athletes regardless of whether their team competes in the Corts Arena or not. The Hanna Center has provided a central location for them to access all of the essential support services that they need, including academic support, strength and conditioning, sports medicine, and administration, which helps them manage the demands of being Division I student-athletes.

Beckerman Athletic Center

Athletic facilities that stand up to the everyday wear and tear are hard to come by. If you are thinking of building an athletic center anywhere in the country, you should connect with Stanmar. They built us the best athletic center we could have asked for with basketball courts, a pool, a fitness center, a student lounge and locker rooms. Well-built and on schedule.

Gallagher Athletic, Recreation & Convocation Center

The Gallagher Center is an important facility for the University. When it opened in 2007, it was named after James P. Gallagher, who retired after 23 years serving as our President. I look back and am most impressed that the planning, which took place in 2006-2007, has given us more benefit today than we could ever have imagined. We are using space to fit such a variety of campus needs. Combined with the quality of the facility and minimal operational issues, I’m thrilled with what the Gallagher Center has provided for our community.

Elizabeth and Malcolm Chace Athletic Center

Stanmar brought a full-service approach to our project that was very nice. They have a history and experience with these types of facilities and we didn’t have to worry about the day-to-day things. Our new Wellness Center is revolutionizing how people are working out on our campus. It has transformed our students, faculty, and staff. The building also makes a statement that we have formidable athletic teams and is already proving useful in recruiting both varsity and non-varsity athletes alike.

Walter J. Manninen Center for the Arts

The Center for the Arts has an inherent energy that generates a sense of belonging. It has quickly become the hallmark building of our campus. Working with Stanmar, first on the Post Sport Center and with the Center for the Arts, has been a true pleasure. Everything was done to achieve the best possible building at our set price. Stanmar’s willingness to help us execute the plan has earned our highest respect. Stanmar has been an important part of our success over these past years, and we look forward to continued opportunities to work together.

Other architects, while they were designing beautiful buildings for us, were largely giving us less space and less knowledge about the athletic building. When we spoke with Stanmar, they were taking us far beyond the knowledge that we had and we thought ‘ah ha’ this is what we need; a specialist that understands these buildings; understand students; traffic; flow; use; what wears; what doesn’t.

We were very happy with the quality of work that Stanmar provided. Stanmar’s communication skills and their ability to listen to our needs were excellent and they made an effort to keep everyone on the same page. There are ebbs and flows that occur naturally in a project of this magnitude and Stanmar did a great job of managing the project time line… and working with us to make sure our budget was met.

This is the first project I have been involved with that came in under budget and was completed before the deadline. We chose Stanmar because we were impressed by their design and plan for our new building. We also visited different facilities that Stanmar had constructed, and were equally impressed by the workmanship and quality of these buildings. I have recommended Stanmar to others because I know they will do an outstanding job, and I want other institutions to benefit from their expertise and professionalism.

Stanmar exceeded our expectations. Everyone that enters our new facility remarks on its beauty. The interior finishes are gorgeous and the view – overlooking the full length of the pool – is breathtaking. Stanmar’s ability to listen and make the change that we needed was also good. Initially, we chose Stanmar for value. At the end of the day, we were left with a wonderful facility that looked terrific, and definitely was a pleasure to build. Stanmar worked hard to get our facility completed on time and on budget and it’s more beautiful than we expected.
