What is the STaR chart?• Helps to asses progress toward the
Long-Range Plan for Technology.
• Data is collected every year
• Broken into four categories:– Teaching and Learning– Educator Preparation and Development– Leadership, Administration and Instructional
Support– Infrastructure for Technology
Teaching and Learning• Looks at how
teachers integrate technology in their classroom
• Are students in the classroom using technology?
• Are teachers teaching the technology standards?
Educator Preparation and Development
• Are teachers participating in professional development?
• Is professional development being offered in the area of technology?
• Is online content being offered?
Leadership, Administration and Instructional Support
• Are campus funds being allocated efficiently?
• Are teachers using a wide variety of media devices?
• The campus has a clear shared vision?
Infrastructure for Technology• Do all students have access to the
internet?
• Are classrooms fully equipped with technology?
• Is there technical staff available?
How are we assessed?• Campuses are given rankings in each of the
four categories each year.• You are given one of four classifications (from
lowest to highest) :– Early Tech– Developing Tech– Advanced Tech.– Target Tech

Where do we go from here?• We need to provide more technology
based professional development. Goal: One a six weeks.
• An expectation for teacher use of technology in the classroom needs to be set and enforced.
• More online content needs to be offered.
