Kareena Kapoor to star

with Amitabh Bachchan

in nextKareena Kapoor would work with Amitabh Bachchan in Pra kash

Jhas next. The two were last seen in Govind Nihlanis Dev

but didnt share screen space. The two did not exactly share a

cordial relationship after Karisma broke off her engagement

with Abhishek Bachchan. But it seems the actors have decided to

forget about their differences.

In Satyagrah, Kareena plays Ajay Devgns ladylove and Amitabhji

his mentor. Kareenas character has strong views on politics and

when she realises Devgn is going astray, stands up against him

and his teacher. Kareena is portraying a strong role in the lm.

She will share a interactive space with Bachchanjis character that

will lend her immense power. After Madhuri Dixit in Mrityudand,

Kareena in Satyagrah is perhaps the directors second strongest

been lying low for the longest

time now and pat comes the

reply: I have nothing exciting

to talk about. Ive just been

working on my movies.

The movies in question are the

just-complet ed Bar! (promos

of which look rather exciting),

a half-complete Yeh Jawaani

Hai Deewani (YJHD), and two

others that are yet to start

Abhinav Kashyaps Besharm

and his brother Anurag

Kashyaps Bombay Velvet.

Other than that, Ranbir makes

time to play sports too

cricket and football and he

emphasised that at a recent

event, for which he is the

ambassador.

Where does that leave time

for his aim of making lms?

Its my dream and goal to do

that, but I end up setting rough

targets and not meeting them,

so I guess itll just happen

naturally when I have a story

to tell. Ive stopped saying

things like six months or a

year.He seems to be getting

enough practice from directing

promos and small scenes for

his lms. He did it in Rockstar

(2011) and just recently for

Bar! as well. But Ranbir has

organise an India Mission 2013

to coincide with the Pravasi

Bharatiya Divas (PBD) to be

held in Cochin in next January.

Announcing this, Naval Bajaj

the President of the ICCC

said the Chamber would lead

a multi-city trade mission

comprising small and medium

businesses and would include

part icipation in the Vibrant

Gujarat 2013 convention. Bajaj

was addressing a high-powered

delegation from Gujarat led by

the states Principal Secretary

D. J. Pandian.

roadblock again. This time,

rumours say that the show

Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee to direct TV crime showsIf things go well, India will

see its rst-ever crime-only

channel. Apparently, a leading

TV broadcaster is planning to

launch a channel dedicated to

the genre soon. And the buzz

is that lmmakers like Anurag

Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee

and Nishikant Kamath have

been approached to make pilot

episodes.

It is believed that Anurag has

already shot his piece. Anurag

has already made his pilot.

It has come out well. Nishi

(Kamath) is currently busy

sorting out details like casting

and locations, conrms a

source.

production house even toyed

with the idea of re-shooting all

the 25 episodes, which were

lmed on lavish sets and scenic

locations within Maharashtra,

from scratch. But that probably

didnt work out.

Our informer says, Earlier

it was the rains and technical

glitches that didnt let us

complete the show. Now there

are problems with Sunnys

dates. Hes been busy with

other work and hasnt allotted

time to the producers tocomplete the shoot. Now its

up to the channel to decide

what should be done with the

footage we have already shot

and whether the show will ever

see the light of day.

Spokespersons at Zee TV and

Colosceum were not willing to

comment.

The insider also adds that the

broadcas ter is in no hurr y to

launch the channel since they

are aiming for a standard and

set up comparable to that of

international channels like

FOX Crime. Thats why

they wanted big lmmakers

to direct the pilot episodes

and take things to the next

level, adds the insider.And

though big-ticket lmmakers

are on board, the episodes

are not likely to feature any

Bollywood stars. Around 40

people have acted in Anurags

lm. And for Nishis lm too,

as many actors are expected.

If everything works out, the

channel might start by the end

of the year, says the insider.

When contacted, Dibakar and

Anurag feigned ignorance.

No one has got in touch with

me yet. They may have plans

to approach me, but Im just

back f rom a holiday, so I dont

know whats happening, says

Shanghai director Dibakar.

Anurag, on his part, adds,

Nothing has happened as yet.

They might be planning to

approach me.

for a special promo video, only

50 days after giving birth to

her son Viaan.

The things you have to do

for your husband, says Shilpa

with a laugh. Ideally, I would

have taken more time off, but

when I saw shots of the new

reality show, I loved it. When

Raj asked me to be part of the

promo, I said, no way, are you

mad? but I remember we shot

it really fast. Since its our

home production, I had to take

time out.

Shilpa had gained 19 kg

during her pregnancy, but has

now lost 10 kg to get closer to

her famous hourglass gure.

Right now though, she is only

thinking about motherhood

and the rst-of-its-kind reality

show.

Reality has always worked in

SFL Challengers, Indias rst

action reality show based on

Khanna is no more. A day

after being discharged

from the hospital,

Rajesh Khannas health

deteriorated again,

following which the veteran

actor was put on ventilator.

Hospitalisat ion

Rajesh Khanna, who has

been battli ng health issues

since April 1, was visited

by the Bollywood frater nity

while he was in hospital.

The 69-year-old actor was

admitted to the hospital on

April l after he complained

of weakness and fatigue.

He was discharged in three

to four days. Khanna was

admitted again on June 23

and spent two weeks there.

He was hospitalised for the

third time on July 14 due

to weakness and low blood

pressu re.

Dimple Kapadia and daughter

Rinki were by his side in the

hospital. Twinkle Khanna with

hubby Akshay Kumar, too,

came to visit her father.

Recent ad

Rajesh Khanna was recently

seen in his rst television ad for

Havells fans. The ad campaign

was directed by lmmaker

after so many years is indeed

a great honour for me and I am

delighted to reconnect with my

fans once again. Shooting after

project. The lm will be

directed by Hemant Nilim Das

and features Survi Chatterjee

in the main lead. The lm is

based on the story of a young

couple who hail from differentcastes and communities from

the interiors of Rajasthan.

It is based on the subject of

honour killings in certain

sections and certain castes in

India. The lm also features

Bhojpuri hero Manoj Malhotra

in the main lead opposite Survi

Chatterjee. Hemant Nilim

Das has recently completed

Indias rst uncut lm

Underground which deals with

the link between terrorists and

politicians in Nort h-East India.

Says Survi Chatterjee, I have

done extensive research on the

Khap community and met withKhap Panchayat leaders as well

in Haryana and other sects in

India. The lm also shows how

the law enforcement agencies

her family lives and since

shooting schedule, she was

living in the hotel the crew

Tha Tiger song was getting

curiosity. But this ones about

love and friendship.A tug-of-

two girls and an emerging love

tale isnt an innovative subject

matter for Hindi movies. In

romance comes when the trio

seems blissful in each others

company, is living together

under one roof and then the

unthinkable and unimaginable

happens cupid strikes.

introvert, while Veronica is a

wild-child. Though the two

are poles apart, they get close

[Saif Ali Khan], who has a

starts living with her. Its a

three characters experience a

cocktail of emotions: Love,

lust, laughter and of course, all

that comes with heart-break.

HomiAdajania, who madehis directorial debut with

BEING CYRUS, attempts

a rom-com in COCKTAIL

with effortless ease, handling

a number of sequences with

dexterity. Come to think of it,

COCKTAIL is a complex lm,

which reects the complexity

and intricacies of human

relationships. The highpoint

of the lm is the three sharply

dened characters, besides, of

course, the styling and visuals.

But this slice-of-life lm

skids in the post-interval

portion s. In fact, if the rst

hour is absorbing, fascinating

and pleasurable, hitting the

right notes when required, thesecond hour is half as exciting

as the rst. What ails the

lm? Well, too many songs,

an over-stretched story, the

inconsistent screenplay, the

beaten to death nale and the

lethargic pacing.

It would be blasphemous if

one were to ignore the styling

of the characters in this movie

[ A n a i t a S h r o f f A d a j a n i a ] .

Graceful designs dictate the

wardrobes of the lead actors in

COCKTAIL, which not only

seizes your attention, but also

takes fashion trends frontward.

The soundtrack of COCKTAIL

[Pritam] strikes the rightchords. Tumhi Ho Bandhu,

DaaruDesi and Yaariyaan

reect the mood of the lm

brill iantly. Salim-Sulaimans

backgrou nd score is classy

and effectual. Anil Mehtas

cinematography gives the lm

the international feel. In fact,

the lm has several stunning

visuals. The dialogue seem

straight out of real life, but

are wicked at times too [I am

carrying his bun in my oven].

After LOVE AAJ KAL and

AARAKSHAN, Saif and

Deepika team up for the third

time and the chemistry and

comfort between the actors is

unmistakably obvious. Saif

has that air for rom-coms

and Homi injects the Delhi

avor into his character, which

makes his character all the

more notable. Saif ts into his

character uently and leaves a

deep-seated impression. The

scene stealer is, without doubt,

Deepika, who not only looks

sizzling hot, but pitches in her

career-best performance. She

lets herself loose, surrenders

to her character wholly and

nails the performance. Its an

incredibly noticeable act. It

wouldnt be erroneous to state

that COCKTAIL would do for

Deepika what JAB WE MET

did for Kareena.

Diana, who makes her acting

debut, gets to portray a rather

difcult character for her

debut lm. Theres a very

disarming kind of innocence

that she brings to the role and

she impresses a great deal.

Dimple Kapadia is in terric

form, portraying the atypical

North Indian lady with gusto.

BomanIrani is rst-rate,

especially in sequences with

Dimple. RandeepHoodas

character is under-nourished.

On the whole, COCKTAIL

has a fascinating rst half,

charismatic performances,

harmonious music and the

trendy look and styling as its

aces, but the second half is not

as tempting or intoxicating as

the rst hour. It pales when

compared to the attention-

grabbing rst hour. Yet, all said

and done, this ones primarily

targeted at the Gen Next,

especially those in metros,

who might identify with the

on-screen characters.

make.try it and see for

yourself! A brilliant and

healthy snack while watching

Things Youll Need:

Brown Layer:

Brown Chocolate 125 gramsKelloggs Rice Krispie 75

grams

Maple Syrup 2 tbsp

Butter 4 tbsp

White Layer:

White Chocolate 150 grams

Kelloggs Rice Krispie* 50grams

Maple Syrup** 1 tbsp

Butter 4 tbsp

Cashew Nut Bits 25 grams

(optional)

Butter extra for greasing.

Golden Touch Preparation

[10 minutes]

In a heat-proof bowl over

simmering Water, melt and

mix together; brown Chocolate

broken into smal l pieces , Maple

Syrup and Butter.

Remove and Mix in the Rice

cereal.

Now pack and press down the

brown layer in the greasedrectangular 86 inch tifn box.

Repeat the steps for white layer,

add Cashew Nuts. Freeze for

Hrithik cuts short Bali holidayto meet grandparentsHrithik Roshan has played

the dutiful son on screen,

most famously in Kabhi

Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001).

And now hes doing it in real

life too. A few days ago, he

proved hes a family man rst

by cutting short his break in

Bali to be with his parents

and grandparents in Dubai.

Hrithik was holidaying in

Bali with wife Sussanne and

kids Hrehaan and Hridhaan.

Incidentally, his friend Arjun

Rampal and his family were

also with them.

But once Hrithik learned that

his grandparents, along with

his father Rakesh Roshan,

mother Pinky and sister

Sunaina had gone to Dubai

for an impromptu vacation, he

decided to join them.

As a result, Hrithik cut short

the Bali holiday by nearly a

week. He ew into Mumbai

on July 11 and within a few

hours, boarded another ight

for Dubai. Since he is very

close to his family, he wanted

to spend some time with

them. He returned on Sunday

night, says an insider close

to Hrithik. Sussanne and the

kids will return with Arjun and

his family, adds the source.

Before Bali, Hrithik had also

gone to the Maldives for a few

days with his family since their

summer vacations are on.

Despite repeated attempts,

Hrithik remained unavailable

for comment.

You can fall in love (with

her) not only on screen but off

screen too. Thats why people

love Katrina, and follow her in

hordes wherever she goes.

Salman sounds thoroughly

impressed with Katrinas work

in the movie as he says, She

is a very hard-working actor.

She has dedicated around ve

hours a day, seven days, to

each of the songs. The credit

for the songs goes completely

to her.

Of course, Salman continues

to be famously unmarried at

46. When asked to comment

on this, Katrina recently said,

I think no one except Salman

should decide at what age he

wants to get married. Fellow

actor and friend Aamir Khan,

however, urged Salman to get

married soon, to which Salman

said, Aamir is after me! I dont

understand why everyone is

after my marriage. Is there any

benet in me getti ng marr ied?

In Ek Tha Tiger, Salman

plays an Ind ian secret agent i n

Dublin to investigate a case,

where he falls in love with a

secretary ( played by Katrina).

As with characters hes played

in the past, the nickname of

Tiger already seems to be

catching on. Ask him about

this, and he says, My name

is Salman Khan. I love it

because my parent s have given

this name to me. Tweaking

my name started with Jackie

Shroff. He once called me

Salle, that got twisted to Sallu.

Then people started calling me

Radhe (after Tere Naam, 2003),

Chulbul Pandey (Dabangg,

2010) and now Tiger As long
